AFL GWS vs Gold Coast Betting Tips
Mars Stadium, Sunday 11th July 12.40pm (AEST)
The Giants forced their way into the top eight with an upset win over the Demons last week and now they have a great opportunity to solidify that spot as they come up against one of the bottom teams in the league in the Suns.
Match Preview
The Giants were on the verge of breaking through the top eight for a few weeks and with Richmond suffering back-to-back losses, they finally jumped in with a huge win over the Dees last week and now their future in the 2021 season lies in their own hands. Continue to win and they will make finals, which is pretty conceivable considering they have winnable games against Gold Coast, Essendon, Richmond and Carlton in the run home.
The Giants battled one of the worst injury lists in the league earlier in the season but their squad is really starting to take shape now. Despite losing a plethora of talent over the past decade, they still boast one of the best midfields in the league when it is fit and firing, with Tim Taranto, Josh Kelly, Jacob Hopper, Lahie Whitfield and Tom Green all having standout seasons.
The Giants have some more big inclusions this week as well, with Jesse Hogan, Matt de Boer, Sam Taylor and Xavier O’Halloran all set to come back into the side.
The Suns had their best win of the season last week against an out of form Tigers side. The win will no doubt give them some confidence moving forward, but the Tigers were absolutely deplorable, so I think it says more about them then the positive form of the Suns at the moment.
The Giants start as 16.5-point favourites here and I absolutely love them at that line. Their squad is looking deep at the moment, so deep in fact that skipper Stephen Coniglio is finding it tough to crack back into the side. The form of their midfield brigade is outstanding and with Hogan back in the line-up, they now have some dynamic targets to pair with Toby Greene. The weather is forecasted to be clear on Sunday in Ballarat, which should help their slick ball movement. I think they beat the Suns easily here.
The Giants have won their last nine games against the Suns by an average margin of a whopping 63.4 points.

Same Game Multi
GWS to win is the anchor leg of the same game multi here. They have woin nine in a row against the Suns and I don’t see that streak ending here. Nick Haynes has had at least 15 touches in all but one game this season, in Round 6 when he was injured in the first quarter. Josh Kelly has been on an absolute tear of late, racking up at least 25 touches in his last nine games straight, including 29 against the Demons in the win last week.
