AFL Hawthorn vs Port Adelaide Betting Tips
Marvel Stadium, Saturday 3rd July 7:40pm (AEST)
Both the Hawks and the Power come into this off narrow wins in Round 15 and will be looking to continue to build momentum with another victory at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night. The Power ($1.42) will start as the hot favourites against the Hawks ($2.89) despite being on the road.
Match Prediction
Hawthorn have put together a really solid three weeks since resuming from their bye, winning two and losing one of their games. They should fantastic resilience against the Giants in their most recent outing when they fought back from four goals down to eventually win by 18 points. The Hawks now have four wins to their name after a really tough first half of the season.
The Hawks don’t have the longest of injury lists, but the players they are missing are important ones. Jarman Impey, Jack Gunston and James Sicily all remain out for the long term, while Chad Wingard and Mitch Lewis are the two who could return in the next week or so pending fitness tests.
Port Adelaide found themselves in a dog fight against a determined Sydney outfit last weekend, which they were eventually able to grind out for the win. The Power certainly haven’t been at their absolute best over the past 5-6 weeks, but they’ve still managed to grind out results to give themselves a decent shot at making the top four.
The Power have one of the more extensive injury lists in the league, which is a big factor as to why they haven’t quite been performing up to expectation. Currently missing from the team’s best 22 through injury are Zak Butters, Xavier Duursma, Orazio Fantasia, Robbie Gray, Hamish Hartlett and Tom Rockliff.
These teams haven’t faced each other in Melbourne since 2015 when the Power ran home 22-point winners. Obviously a lot has changed for both teams since then with the Power now in the premiership sweet spot and the Hawks in full rebuild mode. With that said, the form the Hawks have shown over the past three weeks is capable of testing the Power who are far from full strength. A Hawks win wouldn’t shock, but the Power should be able to get the job done.

Same Game Multi
For the first leg of our Same Game Multi for this clash we’ll be taking Connor Rozee to kick a goal any time. The speedster is in red hot form with nine goals from his past three matches and will enjoy the quick ball movement under the Marvel Stadium roof. Secondly, we’ll be taking the 400-gamer in Shaun Burgoyne to rack up 15+ disposals against his old team. He got the freshener as the sub last weekend and should be primed for his big milestone game. Finally, we’ll be locking in Travis Boak for 25+ disposals which he’s been able to do in all 13 of his appearances this season.
