West Coast will host the Western Bulldogs on Sunday in Round 15 of the AFL. The two teams played out a thriller at Marvel Stadium earlier in the season and this one has the makings of another great game. Check out our preview and AFL tips from Billy Bestford below.
AFL West Coast vs Western Bulldogs Betting Tips
Optus Stadium, Sunday 27th June, 3:20pm AEST
Match Prediction
West Coast will welcome the Western Bulldogs to Optus Stadium as both sides look to cement their position in the top eight. The Bulldogs come into this match looking to avoid two straight losses after a heartbreaking loss to Geelong after the siren last week. You’d expect them to be fired up and ready to erase that from their memories. West Coast will be out in search of their third straight win after a closely fought victory over Richmond last week. They will be brimming with confidence and their record at home is very strong.
The Bulldogs have confirmed Aaron Naughton has overcome a rib injury and will be a massive boost for them as they face one of the toughest away games in the competition. The Dogs have been one of the best sides in the competition all year, having only lost 3 games so far. Led by Marcus Bontempelli and Jack Macrae, the Dogs have forged a fast-paced and young side who can match it with the competition’s best defences.
West Coast have hit a nice purple patch of form recently and a win on Sunday would keep them inside the eight. With the middle of the table very tight at the moment they can’t afford to drop points at home today. As always their key forward men in Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling have been outstanding while Andrew Gaff and Jack Redden continue to own the midfield. Kennedy in particular has an outstanding record here at Optus, having kicked 3 or more goals in his last four matches at this venue.
Expect this match to be a tight one with West Coast lifting in front of their home crowd and the Bulldogs have clearly been one of the benchmark sides of the competition all season.
The Bulldogs came out on top 100-93 the last time these two sides met at Marvel Stadium back in March and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if we saw a similar score line here.
It’s hard to tip against the Dogs coming off a heartbreaking loss but I think West Coast are on the upward spiral as they make a run into the finals. They’ve won 14 of their last 16 matches at Optus and that stat is too hard to ignore.

Same Game Multi
We’ve touched on a few of the key players in this match already and I’m keen to put together a multi involving most of them. As mentioned, Josh Kennedy has an outstanding record here at home and he has to go in to kick a couple. Andrew Gaff has had 35+ touches the last five times he has played the Bulldogs at home!
Josh Bruce has been in great goal kicking form for the dogs and he’s slotted 2+ goals in five of his last six matches while Jack Macrae continues to put up ridiculous numbers again this season. He looks a massive chance for 30+ touches yet again today.
