2021 AFL Round 15 Port Adelaide vs Sydney Tips
Adelaide Oval, Saturday 26th June 4.35pm (AEST)
The Power and the Swans are separated by just one win inside the top eight heading into the clash, which should make for a great game. The Power were easy winners over the Suns in Round 14, while the Swans will be hoping that their bye last weekend will help them get back on track after a couple of lacklustre performances.
Match Prediction
Port Adelaide would’ve been pleased with how they player through the first three quarters of their clash with the Suns away from home last weekend, before they took their foot off the gas in the fourth and cruised to a 50-point victory. It was a necessary performance from the Power after getting upstaged by the Cats in Round 13 where they conceded a season-high 112 points.
The Power’s injury list continues to pile up and they’re now without quite a few of their star players as a result. Robbie Gray was the latest to go down when injuring his knee in his 250th game last weekend, which will see him sidelined probably for the remainder of the home and away season. Gray joins the Likes of Zak Butters, Tom Clurey, Xavier Duursma, Orazio Fantasia and Lachie Jones as first choice players unavailable for selection.
The bye came at the perfect time for the Swans last weekend as they were just starting to toss up some iffy performances. Their most recent game at home to the Hawks in Round 13 was probably their worst game of the year as they went down by 38 points without ever really firing a shot. Despite that loss, it’s been a fantastic season for the young Swans to date.
The Swans have had a pretty good run with injuries this season which is one of the key reasons why they’ve been consistently competitive for the most part in 2021. In saying that, they still have a couple of first choice players on the sidelines, including Errol Gulden, Sam Reid, Chad Warner and Sam Wicks.
The Swans have had control of this matchup since the Power’s inception in 1997 with a 20-10 advantage in the head-to-head stat, however, the Power have dominated over the past couple of seasons with wins in each of their last four games against the Swans; two at home and two on the road. Neither team has been at their best over the past month or so, but the Power will start as the firm favourites, mainly due to being the home team here. All things considered, we expect a competitive game from the Swans who will be looking to bounce back, but we have to side with the Power to get the job done in Adelaide.

Same Game Multi
We’re kicking off our Same Game Multi with our juiciest leg which is Mitch Georgiades to kick two plus goals. The emerging key forward has kicked multiple goals in seven games already this season and enjoys playing at home. For our second leg we’ll be taking Tom Papley to kick a goal at any time. The gun small forward has kicked a goal in all but one game this season and comes up against a Power defence that doesn’t have a whole lot of speed in defence. Finally, we’ll be backing in Sam Powell-Pepper to collect at least 15 disposals. SPP has managed to do that in all but one game this season and should get a little bit more midfield time without Robbie Gray in the side this weekend.
- Georgiades 2+ Goals
- Papley Any Time Goal Kicker
- Powell-Pepper 15+ Disposals
