Massive day of NHL action this Wednesday, the 25th of October with an 11 game slate on the cards. We take a look at some of the best value matchups including the Fox Sports televised Chicago Blackhawks at Vegas Golden Knights and give our betting tips below.
Chicago Blackhawks at Vegas Golden Knights (1pm AEST FOX 501HD)
The Blackhawks head to Sin City to take on a red hot Golden Knights team. Chicago have started strong early on and are second behind the St Louis Blues. It's hard not to go with Chicago with a list including Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa and Jonathan Toews. Patrick Kane leads the team with Assists and has 11 points, while ex Bluejacket Brandon Saad leads the goal category with six.
After taking out the top of the table the St Louis Blues, the hockey nation are starting to appreciate the Vegas Golden Knights. Vegas are second behind the LA Kings in a very competitive Western Conference with a record of 6-1-0. The most experience forward James Neal leads the team with six goals and eight points and is surely earning his money in a Vegas. The Golden Knights have shown form on home ice and will try and win game number four in a row.

Edmonton Oilers at Pittsburgh Penguins (10am AEST)
The question is when are the Oilers gonna show up? With all the hype surrounding the Oilers at the start of the season and a team lead by Connor McDavid, there are certainly some concerns coming out of Edmonton. The Oilers sit second last in the Western Conference and they only tallied two wins and lost five. Their schedule over the last three games has been tough with games against the Blues, Blackhawks and the Flyers. Now with a game in Pittsburgh the Oilers will hoping they can get through this one and head back home with some confidence.
The Pens have won close games and have been smashed in the games they have lost. The three losses have come at the hands of goalie Antti Niemi who now has been waived. Only three weeks into the season they obviously didn't see Niemi fitting into the lineup after giving up four, five and seven goals in his first three starts. Pittsburg have a good record over the Oilers and have won the last four out of five.
TIP: Pittsburgh Penguins to win - $1.66 at Ladbrokes
Tampa Bay Lightning at Carolina Hurricanes (10.00am AEST)
Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman lead the pack in an All Star lineup that are 7-1-1. The line including Stamkos and Kucherov is unstoppable at the moment with Stamkos already up to 15 assists and Kucherov leading the team with ten goals. The Lightning's Goaltending has been up to scratch as well with Vasilevskiy winning all seven games including a shutout against Pittsburgh. Good things may happen in Tampa early next year at this rate.
The Hurricanes have played the least amount of games in the Eastern Conference which is why they are midway in the standings. Jeff Skinner leads the team with five goals, with a double against the Stars. Carolina has been great defensively early on but need to find more goal scoring as they are ranked 25th in the goals category, only scoring 2.67 per game.
TIP: Tampa Bay Lightning to win - $1.96 at Sportsbet
