Draftstars have released a brand new feature on their Daily Fantasy Sports platform that is sure to be a hit.
There has been much talk about this feature, and it's finally arrived with "The Sub" set to go live this week with the NBA the first sport to feature. Other sports such as NFL, Cricket, EPL and the local footy codes will soon follow.
The Sub gives Draftstars users reassurance that if you missed news that a player is out of an upcoming contest, and you were unable to player swap or edit your team, then you will receive a Sub in place of the missing player. This way you won't be penalised with a zero scoring player!
There are criteria to be met for The Sub to work which are as follows:
- Sub player is the same or under the salary of the OUT player.
- Sub player is in the same team as the player who is OUT.
- Sub player shares the same position as the player who is OUT.
- Sub player is available to be subbed and is not rostered in the original lineup.
- If no players are available who fit the above the criteria, then no sub will occur.
In majority of cases the Sub will be applied at the start of the affected player's match, however if a player was OUT very close to the start time of the match and the sub did not work at the time, the sub can be applied at the end of the match.
"We continue to listen to Draftstars players who provide plenty of ideas and feedback on how their experiences can be improved," said Draftstars Operations Specialist, Luke Mathyssen. "By far the most disappointing experience is when you simply didn't know a player pulled out before a match and you have this player rostered in your Draftstars teams. Having a 'doughnut' in your lineup is deflating, especially when news hits you fast. With The Sub, we are providing players with a potential backup when a player is out, especially if you have invested in a premium salaried player."
"Player Swap is still the preferred tool for a bulk replacement of a player before a match starts, but The Sub is there when you simply going about your day."
