There are two tournaments on the PGA Tour this weekend, but the one with the bigger purse and more talented field is the Genesis Scottish Open. Many of the world’s top golfers will be in action in Scotland from Thursday to Sunday and as always, we’ve provided a full preview and betting tips for the tournament below.
PGA Tour: Genesis Scottish Open Betting Tips
Scottish Open, The Renaissance Club, UK Thursday 13th – Sunday 17th
Scottish Open is hosted by The renaissance Club which is 72- hole tournament which is the next main PGA event after the US Open with the Travellers, Rocket Mortgage and John Deere all being played in between. This event sees eight top ten players line up which makes for a great event.
The Field
The 2023 genesis Scottish Open is set for a $9Million purse with the winner expected to take home just over $1.6Million and there is 500 FedEx cup points up for grabs. Expecting to see some exciting golf with 8 of the top 10 players competing here and 30 of the top 50 players will also be set to compete here. This makes it tricky for punters to find a winner but makes for great viewing.
The Course
The course is a par 70 that is just over 6.5km in distance. The course is surrounded by pine forest which make the fairways tricky. However, most holes are long and straight which can open it up for those big hitters who will be advantaged here. There is also three holes that run along the coastline which brings water into play and some strong winds if they are around during the week.
Betting Tips
Rickie FOWLER $17/$2.90 (TOP 10) – Bet Now at TAB
Coming off a Rocket Mortgage Classic win where we backed him in and he got the chocolates. Once again his form has been terrific. Finished in the top 20 9 of his last 10 PGA events. Happy to have a bet on him again after his brave win in the RMC and even more keen on the top 10 or top 20 market.
Rory MCLLROY $9/$2.10 (TOP 10) – Bet Now at Ladbrokes
This bloke is capable of winning any tournament and he has been in cracking form of late. Finished top 10 in all five of his last outings. I am in no doubt he will be competitive again here and expect him to be around the mark.
Scott SCHEFFLER $8/$2.70 (TOP 5) – Bet Now at TAB
The favourite for the Scottish open here and can see why. He has finished top 5 in his last 7 events at the PGA. Looks a nice bet
