NFL Daily Fantasy Tips 2023-24: Week 15

December 17th 2023, 6:27pm, By: Ben Bridge

NFL Fantasy Tips

A 10-game slate greets us on Monday morning, with seven early window games, and three in the late window. With the highest total in the early window just 42 points, it’s the three late window games where I will be concentrating mostly for this slate of games. These three games include the Cardinals hosting the 49ers (48), Rams hosting the Commanders (50.5), and in the highlight of the day, the Bills hosting the Cowboys (50).

Draftstars has a $20,000 contest, with a $2,185 first prize. There are plenty of other contests for everyone to get involved. And if you’re really keen on a chance to win big, there’s a $20 contest with the winner gaining entry into the $150k NFL Star Final. Bring it on! Let’s kick things off.

NFL 2023-24 Daily Fantasy Tips: Week 15

Quarterbacks

Brock Purdy - $15,270

How about the start to the career for Brock Purdy? After being Mr. Irrelevant less than two years ago, he now sits as basically a co-favourite for the MVP Award. Unbelievable. He is getting it done in fantasy too, as he ranks 5th amongst all quarterbacks. He should dominate once again this week, as the 49ers take on the Cardinals, who since week 9 have allowed the fifth-most passing touchdowns, sixth-highest passer rating, and the tenth-highest yards per attempt. Meanwhile, Purdy ranks first in yards per attempt and passer rating, fourth in passing yards per game, and third in completion over expected.

Matthew Stafford - $13,450

Stafford and the Rams have been going about their business on offense, with the two headed monster of Kupp and Puka hitting top gear last week. Since returning from injury in week 11, Stafford ranks first in passing touchdowns, fourth in hero throw rate, and sixth in passer rating. This week, he takes on a terrible Commanders secondary and defence, who since week 9 have conceded the most passing yards per game, highest completion percentage over expected, and third-highest yards per attempt. In a game with a high total, I love Stafford this week.

Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey - $23,080

We rarely talk up CMC, and when we do, he seems to always have a game without a touchdown, so a straight fade could be a smart option this week. However, against this Cardinals run defence, I love CMC here. There is also an added element for the 49ers to feed McCaffrey here, with the injury to Tyreek Hill putting the 49ers running back in prime position to win Offensive Player of the Year. We all know what McCaffrey can do, but the matchup is key here, with the Cardinals allowing the second-highest yards before contact, fourth-most rushing yards per game, and the 12th-highest explosive run rate since week 9. Run CMC, run.

Bijan Robinson - $14,600

If Arthur Smith doesn’t blow this, Bijan should absolutely dominate this week. With weather expected in Charlotte on Sunday, I expect the Falcons to keep this on the ground. Robinson continues to see a solid snap share, as he ranks tenth in snap share and eighth in weighted opportunity in the league. He also ranks seventh in missed tackles forced, and 30th in yards after contact per attempt. Against a Panthers defence that since week 9 has allowed the seventh-highest missed tackles per attempt, 11th-highest rushing touchdown rate, and 12th-highest yards per carry to zone runs, a big Bijan game should be incoming.

Tyjae Spears - $8,000

Spears is a boom or bust RB2/FLEX option this week. Last week, the Titans finally decided to use their rookie running back, as he exploded for 6 catches for 89 yards, to go along with his 29 rushing yards. Hopefully, this has shown Mike Vrabel that Spears can be a valuable check-down option for rookie quarterback Will Levis. This week, the Titans take on the Texans, who since week 9 have allowed the sixth-most missed tackles per attempt, eighth-highest rushing touchdown rate, and 13th-highest explosive run rate. The game state should set up nicely for the Titans to use the run game throughout, as they sit as 3-point favourites over the Texans.

Wide Receivers

Cooper Kupp - $13,960

Take your pick of Kupp or Nacua this week, and they are also a fantastic option as a stack, with the Stafford/Kupp/Nacua stack likely to garner plenty of attention this week. Kupp finally looked back to his old self last week, as he hauled in 8 receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown. Whilst I’ve already explained the Cardinals’ defensive shortcomings above, I can go over how Kupp is looking this season. Kupp has moved almost exclusively into the slot of late (71%), and this figures to be a huge plus for him this week against the Commanders. Since week 9, the Commanders have allowed the most points per target to opposing slot receivers. Kupp or Nacua, make your choice, you can’t go wrong.

Deebo Samuel - $13,690

Deebo SMASH! Deebo is the hottest fantasy player in the league right now, coming off scores of 22.4, 38.8, and 37. Deebo gets an A+ matchup this week against the Cardinals, who have allowed the second-most receiving yards per game to perimeter wide receivers, and third most PPR points per target to receivers since week 9. The Cardinals will line up in two-high safeties at a high rate, and when matched up with a two-high look, Samuel has absolutely dominated. Against two-high, Samuel commands a 30.5% target share, 37.3% first read share, and 3.97 yards per route run! Scary, scary man.

Jayden Reed - $8,140

Reed is turning himself into a nice-little gadget man for the Packers, and with Christian Watson likely out, and Aaron Jones surely rusty even if he plays, expect plenty more usage for Reed this week. The Bucs run single-high at a top 12 rate in the NFL, and against single-high Reed has been dominant in this offense, ranking first in target share (20.4%), first-read share (25%), and yards per route run (1.9). Since week 8, the Buccaneers have allowed the fifth-most receiving yards and sixth highest PPR points per target to opposing slot receivers. A great matchup, and a cheap price.

Tight Ends

Jake Ferguson - $8,860

Ferguson has turned into a great weapon for the Cowboys, ranking first in redzone targets, eighth in receiving yards, 10th in receptions, and 11th in deep targets amongst all tight ends. It’s a good matchup for Ferguson this week, as the Cowboys take on the Bills, who use two-high looks at the fourth-highest clip in the NFL. Against two-high looks, Ferguson has a 20.6% target share, 25.8% first-read share, and 2.37 yards per route run. In a matchup with a high total, expect Ferguson to get his share of targets, and hopefully a score for his fantasy owners.

Cole Kmet - $8,000

Kmet is a slight dart throw this week, against a tremendous Browns defence, however he could dominate if given the chance. The Browns run single-high looks at the eighth-highest rate in the NFL, which pushes Cole Kmet into the slot more often than not. This is one area the Browns defence struggles in, as they have allowed the second-most receiving touchdowns, and fifth-most PPR points per target to slot receivers since week 9. With Denzel Ward tying up DJ Moore on the perimeter, expect either Kmet or Darnell Mooney to be targeted often by Justin Fields. Kmet has consistently shown he can score touchdowns, so don’t be surprised if he scores one this week.

D/ST

Atlanta Falcons - $6,600

The Falcons met the Panthers in week 1 this season, where their defence wreaked havoc on this horrific Panthers offense. They scored 10 points, as they managed two interceptions, two sacks, and a fumble recovery. The Panthers offense appears to be even worst since this time, and with weather expected, I would be very surprised if the Panthers manage to score 10 points. Bryce Young is a walking turnover, with 9 interceptions and 5 fumbles this year. Expect the Falcons to turn it up this week, in a must-win game in a tight NFC South.

Tennessee Titans - $5,600

The Titans get to take on a Texans outfit that will be missing their QB1 (Stroud), WR1 (Tank Dell), and potentially their WR2 and WR3 (Nico Collins, Noah Brown). Whilst the Titans defence has struggled to stop opposing teams scoring, they have still managed to score relatively well in fantasy, with their last three scores being 10, 8, and 9. They have been getting turnovers at a high clip, whilst also averaging 4 sacks per game over that span. A good chance here for the Titans defence to show out, against a banged-up Texans offense.
