The tops turvy weather may throw in a curveball prior to the jump but the forecast is predicting it’ll be run on a soft5, with the expectation it’ll hover around that mark throughout the duration of the program.

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday April 6th 2024
Race 2: Robert Taranto (12:40 AEDT)

(12) Our Empress Zoe has strong claims from an equally good gate but pace on her inside may just use up her petrol tickets jostling for position in the early stages. With even luck the Cranbourne trained mare comes into calculations.
8) Nana’s Wish holds favouritism honours and for good reason after saluting at Pakenham two months back which reads well for this. Ben Allen in the saddle is another positive that can give connections something to smile about.

Race 8: Sportsbet Victoria Hcp (4:15pm AEDT)
(2) Buffalo River looms as one of the better bets across the weekend in my eyes at a healthy enough price. Expect him to be bowling along in front as he pleases and with even luck can lead them a merry dance.
(4) Here To Shock finds itself only needing to carry 54kg over the 1400m here, which is a big sigh of relief considering the weight she hauled in the Echuca Cup. Has been found in early markets and can run a big race for the Hayes camp.
(5) Seonee straps up fitter after it seemingly needed the run midway through March when it was first up, still managing minor spoils. Slots in as my third selection but not without some hope of featuring on top of the dais from a good gate.
