The dust has settled on a cracking ANZAC Day of racing and now we turn our attention to a couple of decent mid-week meets. Today we preview the eight race cards at both Sandown and Canterbury and give our best bet and best value for both.
SANDOWN RACING TIPS
R1 - Eramosa
R2 - Steel Of Madrid EW
R3 - Alamonteel
R4 - Kabrocco
R5 - Lady Lee
R6 - Le Boss
R7 - Fife
R8 - Alaskan Sun
Best Bet: Race 4 Kabrocco
Flying this prep with three wins from three starts at his home track Wangaratta. Comes to the city now but the time he ran last start was quick and he is one from one on heavy tracks. With the claim and the good draw he is a good winning chance here.
Best Value: Race 2 Steel Of Madrid
Three of his four starts have been on wet tracks and he's placed in all of those. Flashed home last start on heavy ground which suggests he'll handle the track today and the extra 200m will suit. Big price available.
CANTERBURY RACING TIPS
R1 - Slow Burn
R2 - Savvan
R3 - Deceptacon
R4 - Nothing Box / Sovereignaire EW
R5 - Hit The Mark
R6 - Dagny
R7 - Cross Stitch
Best Bet: Race 6 Dagny
It was our best bet of the day first up when winning and it's our best of the day once again here. Trialled well, won well, drawn well here, has the form jockey in the country on board and won on wet ground last start. Incredibly hard to beat.
Best Value: Race 4 Sovereignaire
Always peaks at his third run back from a spell and gets conditions to do so again today so $11 looks a big price.
