Rosehill Racing Tips: Saturday, February 24th 2024
Race 4: Tab Silver Slipper Stakes (Group 2) - 1100m (14:15 AEDT)
(1) Espionage is going to be hard to beat after winning the Breeder’s Plate last year and trialing effortlessly to win earlier this month. Gate 3 should enable him to settle just off the speed in a cozy position under Nash.
(6) Yoshinubu was a $550,000 purchase and didn’t trial too badly leading up to his debut. He lacks the race experience of his opposition here but is an enormous price and worth considering.
(7) Erno’s Cube may have something to offer here. Looks to have improved with a decent run up at the Magic Millions and a comfortable trial win prior to his race this weekend.
(1) Espionage
$2.70 (2 Units)
Race 5: Parramatta Cup (Listed) - 1900m (14:50 AEDT)
(13) Zenzella is the deserving favourite although this race wasn’t easy to dissect and looks somewhat competitive. Everything just looks right here for this mare with a middle gate, good form all prep, light weight, plenty of her opposition resuming or still early in their preparations.
(6) Diamil is 2nd up here and did bolt home fresh. James McDonald aboard is an important factor and the horse is drawn well. He’ll get back and be looking to run on but without any interference he should be right in it.
(11) So United may lead here. There doesn’t look to be a massive amount of speed on paper and the horse is shooting for a hat-trick. A lot to like which is why he’s in the market.
(13) Zenzella E/W
$4.20/$1.90 (2 Units)
Race 8: Precise Air Hobartville Stakes - 1400m (16:35 AEDT)
(8) Ceolwulf is overs here. He ran 2nd to Encap last prep and resumed well when unlucky behind horses at Randwick. He has mixed it with this quality before and can do so again at a huge price.
(2) Encap is a horse i want to see run well. He’s a favourite of mine, oozes quality and was unlucky not to have a better prep last spring. Wide draw here but let’s see what he can conjur up.
(1) Tom Kitten was all the rage last preparation and returned with a pass mark over an unsuitable trip. Only another 200m here which means he may still struggle. Very short.
(8) Ceolwulf E/W
$19.20/$4.90 (1 Unit)
