Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, August 7th 2024
Race 6: Darley Furious Stakes 1200m – 2:45pm (AEST)
(1) Manaal is a 3YO filly who we liked first up and she wasn’t beaten all that far. Meets similar company now in Ameena who the winner in that previous outing was, but Manaal meets her 3kg better at the weights this time round and will only be improving second up. Maps again to settle midfield and will again be working late to hopefully pick them up and score. Collett remains in the saddle and I am happy to have again. Main danger.
(2) Ameena is a last start winner against the favourite here, but has a 3kg swing not in her favour this time. J-Mac to steer again and unbeaten second up, so deserves thought for sure.
(3) Drifting is a well rated filly here and boasts a handy record from five starts. Draws a wide gate the only concern, but good enough to win here.
(1) Manaal
$2.70 (2.5 units)
Race 7: Southern Cross Group Concorde Stakes 1000m - 3:20pm (AEST)
(1) Giga Kick is the early favourite who is a multiple Black Type winner and only had the one run last prep where he finished 3rd at the Valley behind Imperatriz and Rothfire. Returns to racing today off a long break, but has trialled well on two occasions leading up to this. Top hope.
(4) Bella Nipotina is a resuming mare who has been very honest at tope level and hasn’t missed the exacta in her last four outings. Came third in this race last year, so is another top hope here.
(7) I Am Me is a resuming 6YO mare who has trialled nicely leading into this and demands respect off last prep where she was matching it with the best in her G1 outings. Terrific record fresh and is drawn perfectly to ping the lids and dictate the race where she likes to be. Nash Rawiller jumps on for the first time who is no slouch and I expect her to be leading here for a long way. Roughie of the day.
(7) I Am Me (E/W)
$10/$2.60 (1u e/w)
Race 9: Ikon Tramway Stakes 1400m – 4:35pm (AEST)
(3) Democracy Manifest was enormous first up when running on from the tail over 1200m. Rises in trip suits as he only improves over further. Draws a sticky gate, but watch for him late.
(8) Amelias Jewel is a 5YO mare who we all know very well. Returns to racing in Sydney to tackle this Group 2 Tramway Stakes over 1400m. She boasts a lovely record fresh with 4 wins and a second from 5 attempts. She is also unbeaten from 4 attempts at Group 2 level and 2 x preps ago she resumed first up over 1400m at G2 level and won nicely. Happy to have here at set weights and previous form lines. Top hope.
(11) Nugget is the roughie of the field who has some handy form and is 2 from 3 at this trip. Proven first up too. Blow out hope.
(8) Amelias Jewel
$2.80 (2.5 units)
