We hit on 2/4 bets in Tuesday's esports betting tips and we'll be hunting more winners this Wednesday, the 1st of April as we take a look at some of the key matchups across the CS:GO and DOTA2 scenes once again.
Esports Betting Tips: CS:GO and Dota2 – Wednesday, April 1st
Evil Geniuses vs FURIA Esports
(ESL Pro League Season 11 North America)
FURIA are entering the Wednesday's bout with a perfect 2-0 record to their name, which they earned with two solid performances against Team Liquid (2-1) and their Brazilian rivals MiBR (2-1). While their win over Liquid was a bit messy, FURIA put up quite a show against MiBR, thanks to Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato, who ended the series with 1.40 HLTV rating and 61 kills. Their next opponents, Evil Geniuses, had more of an unstable road through the tournament. They defeated 100 Thieves (2-1) in week one and produced an iffy 2-0 win over Swole Patrol, who pushed them to 30 rounds on Vertigo (14-16), which suggests Evil Geniuses are not as sharp as they were a couple of months ago.
FURIA might not be one of the elite CS:GO teams, but their performances against Team Liquid and MiBR imply they are in great shape. Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, not so much. If the Brazilian squad can keep their fire going, winning one map should be a cakewalk, while a clean sweep win still seems to be out of their reach.
VALUE: Over2.5 Maps $1.96
Team Dignitas vs Orgless
(FLASHPOINT)
If there is one thing to note about these two sides is that they have not looked particularly good throughout Flashpoint, so a scrappy affair that can easily extend into three maps might be on the cards. There are arguments to be made for backing Dignitas, given that they have far more experienced individuals on their roster, but besides Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg and Christopher "Get_RiGhT" Alesund, Dignitas are playing very poorly.
Team Dignitas and Orgless have met twice before this tournament, securing one 2-1 win apiece, suggesting this bout could be a massive coin toss, so there is some value betting on Orgless, especially considering they have already crushed Dignitas (16-4, 16-3) during the group stage. Betting on the match to go to the distance seems like a safer option!
VALUE: Orgless to Win $2.07
Fnatic vs Geek Fam
(ESL One Los Angeles Dota2 Major: SEA)
Fnatic are entering this match as heavy favourites, which seems fair, considering they are a much stronger team on the paper, yet their displays throughout the tournament were mediocre, to say the least. Having said that, Carlo "KuKu" Palad and co. failed to inspire much optimism with their 0-2 loss to Adroit and 1-2 against BOOM Esports as well, which begs the question of whether they can cause any problems to Fnatic.
Fnatic and Geek Fam have met once before this year, during ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier, where they produced a stalemate, which suggests Geek Fam are set to chip at least one map off their adversaries. Having said that, Fnatic are not a team to underestimate. They have been on a hot streak prior to their shaky displays in the opening two rounds at LA Major and the added pressure of needing a win here will inspire a stronger performance from reigning DOTA Summit 12 champions.
Newbee vs Royal Never Give Up
(ESL One Los Angeles Dota2 Major: China)
RNG have established themselves as the strongest Chinese Dota2 team at the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record, which earned them a direct bye into the playoffs. That, however, also means that they have nothing left to fight for, which brings up the question whether Du "Monet" Peng and his crew will even have the motivation to push for a win. What's more, Newbee have been playing extremely well at the Major and the fact that they have defeated ViCi (2-0), Invictus Gaming (2-0) and PSG.LGD (2-1) suggests they are more than ready to take on RNG.
Priced at $2.60 for an outright win, backing Lai "Fonte" Xingyu and co. is a bet that is hard to ignore as there is no reason to believe they couldn't edge past RNG and secure a spot in the upper bracket of playoffs. Another bet worth looking at is over 2.5 maps, as it's unlikely either side will completely dominate the contest.
