There’s a fantastic three game slate to look forward to this Sunday in the AFL headlined by a monster clash between Geelong and Essendon at the MCG! We take a look at all three games this Sunday and give our betting tips below.

AFL Round 7 Sunday Tips
Carlton Blues vs North Melbourne Kangaroos (Marvel, 1.10pm AEST)
Both the Blues and the Kangaroos will be hunting their second win of the season when they face off at Marvel Stadium on Sunday. The Roos captured their only win of the season back in Round 4 when they defeated the Crows by 12 points. They have since had a few disappointing losses to the Bombers and Power in the last two rounds.
The Blues captured a fantastic 44 point win over the Bulldogs in Round 5, marking the first time they have scored 100 points since the 2016 season. Star midfielder Patrick Cripps picked up 37 touches in the win as he continues to dominate for the Blues. Carlton were impressive in a 5 point loss to the Hawks in Round 6and although they have lost five of their opening six games, four of those losses have been by less than 20 points.
North Melbourne have really struggled to find an avenue to goal in 2019 so far, with 87 points being their highest score through six games and that came in a loss. The Roos start as 9.5 point favourites which we think is a touch high given their struggles kicking a winning score so far this season. We like the Blues here.
Geelong Cats vs Essendon Bombers (MCG, 3.20pm AEST)
The Cats will be looking to move further ahead on top of the AFL ladder when they face off against the Bombers at the MCG on Sunday afternoon. Geelong are currently the only team in the league with five wins through the opening six rounds, and sit four points clear of seven trailing teams. They captured a monster 58 point win over the Eagles at GMHBA Stadium in Round 6 as Gary Rohan continued his hot start to the season with four goals.
After a slow start to the season, the Bombers looked to have found some form with three straight wins over the Demons, Lions and Kangaroos by a combined margin of 123 points. They were unlucky in the ANZAC Day Clash against Collingwood, going down by four points but will be grateful for the extended eight day break in the lead up to the game against Geelong. Joe Daniher has returned to the Bombers line-up with a bang, booting six goals in his two games.
The Bombers defeated the Cats in a shock upset at the MCG in Round 9 last season after starting the year with a 2-8 record. They sparked a fantastic run for the Bombers, who went on to win 10 of their next 15 games to but ultimately just missed the finals. The Cats start as 14.5 point favourites here but we like them to cover that. When they have won this year they have generally won by big margins and teir forward line is looking ultra-dynamic at the moment with the additions of Rohan and Luke Dalhaus.
Adelaide Crows vs Fremantle Dockers (Adelaide Oval, 4.40pm)
The Crows will look to make it three wins a row when they host the Dockers from 4.40pm at Adelaide Oval. After starting the season with just one win from the opening four games, the Crows have bounced back to win their last two over the Suns and Saints in dominant fashion. Eddie Betts has slotted eight goals over the two games and alongside a dominant midfield, has been the catalyst for the Crows resurgence.
The Dockers have been one of the surprise packets of the 2019 season so far. They currently sit second on the AFL ladder with four wins from six games and have won their last two in a row over the Giants and Bulldogs. The win over the Giants was particularly impressive but apart from that, the Dockers don’t really boast any fantastic wins. Their other four wins came over the Roos, Suns, Saints and Dogs and they’ll get a real test over the next three weeks as they face the Crows, Tigers and Bombers.
The Crows start as 20.5 point favourites here, which seems about right given they are back at Adelaide Oval. Their forward line has really come to life over the past few games scoring 216 combined points in their last two. We think they cover here.
