Another fantastic race meet coming from Cannington in Western Australia this Wednesday, the 6th of March! We are back to take a look at some of the key races and give his tips below.
Cannington Greyhound Tips
Race 3
Juniper Twedo makes her debut for trainer Shayne Williams and comes up with box one. She recorded a 5.65 first sectional and 30.25 overall time for the 520m. That is about three lengths faster than the standard winning time for this class and her time was close to the standard winning time for fifth-grade dogs. If she can land in front, then she should prove hard to run down. Her main danger will be Who’s Got Subi drawn alongside her.
Race 4
Smaller field of six runners will contest this grade five event and Spirit Monelli looks a good price in the race. Two starts ago he was second, beaten 1L by Feelin’ Alright in a personal time of 29.97. His rivals haven’t broken the 30-second mark for track and distance. He can be a length faster than Garbrandt and Tornado Alley at the start but I’m not super confident that he will cross both here. As long as he can settle in striking distance with the pair, he should be fighting out the finish. Four starts from this box have produced two wins which is a positive.
Race 6
Lingard is currently in the zone with back-to-back victories in 22.10 and 22.09. If he runs either of those times here then he should be making it a hat-trick of wins. Lingard has been leaving the boxes quickly and he should be able to lead from box two tonight. There is more depth tonight but his current form suggests he is the greyhound to beat.
Race 12
A tricky race to work out but I like one at a bit of a price here in the form of Jayell Magic. Her form doesn’t read too bad, with her past two starts fine for a race of this nature. Box six is a bit of a concern but nothing jumps off the page in this race and Jayell Magic’s form reads as well as most of them. She has one of the better track and distance records in the field also and with some luck she could be right in the finish.
