Another Wednesday night, another fantastic Greyhound race card coming from Cannington in Western Australia! We take a look at some of the key races on the card and give our betting tips below!
Cannington Greyhound Tips
Race 2
Torglo will be trying to hunt up and lead from box one. He will settle close to the speed regardless and a string of second-placings should have him ready to go one better. Tonight could be the night to capture a second career win after consistent performances in 22.22, 22.32 and 22.34. Sunset Moo Moo and Lingard look the biggest dangers in the race.
Race 4
West On Poppy, Raw Luxury and Starter Up are the likely early speed in this mixed 4/5 grade event and I will go with the box advantage in the form of Raw Luxury from two. She hasn’t won from box two yet but that may change here as she looks a strong chance of running down West On Poppy who may be able to hold out the early challengers. The red rug looks far too short at even money which is why Raw Luxury appeals in the race. Expect her to go close.
Race 7
The FFA looks competitive once again with Issue and Exonerated meeting. Exonerated was the victor last time with a 21.64 win over Issue who finished 2.25L away. Drawing inside brings Issue right into the race this time and I think he can turn the tables. Both greyhounds have excellent records over track and distance. Issue is chasing his first win since October, which was four starts ago, and this looks a very suitable race.
Race 10
Bushman’s Cobber has the fastest time over track and distance and if he produces his best form then he may be too good for my top selection. Sweet As Fate has been running over the 405m at Mandurah and her form looks good to me. She is a last-start winner in easier grade, but she has been extremely consistent in recent runs. Drawing box one is a huge plus and she should be able to give them something to catch.
Race 12
A mixed 5/6 to conclude the program tonight and I’m keen on Timely Ask from box two. Her form is terrific with a win and three minor placings from her past four starts. Her Mandurah form is probably stronger than her Cannington form, but she strikes a suitable race with her main dangers drawing wider. Her recent Mandurah win in 22.96 is good time and she followed it up with a second-placing in 23.07.
