Last year’s NFL season left us wanting more after one of the most intense games of all time in Super Bowl LI and after what feels like an eternity since the Patriots lifted the trophy, the NFL returns this weekend!
The NFL is the most popular sport amongst the American punters, and for good reason, there are so many good season long markets that offer great value and we take a look at the best of them in our 2017/18 NFL Season Preview & Betting Tips below.
Division Tips
The division odds offer some great value in most cases and there are a few that we really like. The Cowboys took out the NFC East last season and should only improve here with the growth of QB Dak Prescott and RB Ezekiel Elliot. They still boast arguably the best offensive line in all of football so their explosive offence should be still intact. Dez Bryant missed time last year but looks ready to fire this season so we think the Cowboys should so another strong performance in the NFC East.
TIP: Dallas Cowboys to win the NFC East - $2.63 at Sportsbet
The Colts performed well below par last season but still have the offensive talent available to give a poor AFC South division a shakeup. Including their games against the rest of the AFC South, they boast the easiest schedule in the league and the best QB in the division. Good quarterbacks win games in the NFL and there’s proof to back that up, we like Andrew Luck to lead his team back to a 3rd division title since debuting.
TIP: Indianapolis Colts to win the AFC South - $4 at Ladbrokes
Other Division Tips
New England to win AFC East - $1.12
Pittsburgh to win AFC South - $1.57
Oakland to win AFC West - $3
Atlanta to win NFC South - $2.63
Arizona to win NFC West - $3.40
Green Bay to win NFC North - $1.45
Player Awards
Julio Jones won the receiving crown in 2015 and was close last season just 40 years behind winner T.Y Hilton. Jones distanced himself from the pack in the Super Bowl last season with a brilliant performance and Atlanta QB Matt Ryan loves to air the ball out. Jones’ only competition will likely be Antonio Brown of the Steelers, but with Ben Roethlisberger’s potential to miss games through injury, we like Jones at $5 here.
TIP: Julio Jones most receiving yards - $5 at Sportsbet
Drew Brees has led the league in passing five of the last seven seasons. Many think that he may take a backward step this season due to the Saints signing running back Adrian Peterson but we think that it will only open up more avenues for Brees to do what he does best, sling.
TIP: Drew Brees most passing yards - $3.40 at Sportsbet
Other Player Tips
LeVeon Bell most rushing yards - $5.50
Jameis Winston MVP (Value) - $41
Luke Kuechly Defensive MVP - $15
Super Bowl LII
There’s really only one team on our radar for this season’s Super Bowl and that’s the New England Patriots. The reigning champions will lose their number one receiver from last season in Julian Edleman who tore his ACL in the preseason. However, they will welcome Rob Gronkowski back into the side who missed most of last season through injury and is arguably the best QB of all time.
Tom Brady continues to hold off father time and will enter this season as arguably the best QB in the league and the MVP favourite. Many tipsters like the Patriots to go undefeated this year, as the AFC East is once again pretty weak and their remaining games are on the easier side. Either way they should romp home the AFC East and book themselves an easy first round playoff game, making them a worthy title favourite.
TIP: New England to win Super Bowl LLI - $5 at Ladbrokes
Value TIP: New England to go 16-0 and win the title - $51 at Sportsbet
