Not one score over 100 in our fantasy team of the week last weekend in an extremely average performance all around. We were bound to have a few bad weeks only submitting one team every round and we are only hunting that one lucky team so we’ll keep plugging away. AFL Daily Fantasy Team of the Week – Round 18
Forwards
Joe Daniher
The big forward had a monster week against the Saints in Round 17, kicking 5 goals and scoring 101 points. Does need to kick goals to score well, but should have plenty of opportunity this week coming up against the Roos. We expect him to kick another 3 or 4 at least.
Isaac Heeney
Is the second highest scoring forward on the year so far and is priced $2,000 cheaper than most of the blokes around him. At $12,750 is an absolute bargain for what will most likely be a 100+ against the Saints. Scores of 86, 90 and 89 in the last 3 proves consistency.
Midfielders
Clayton Oliver
Taking a different approach in the midfield this weekend and avoiding a premium priced player. Clayton Oliver averages over 100 on the season so far and at just $13,250 is by far the cheapest player in that category. Scores of 91, 106 and 90 over his last 3 are nothing to complain about and tackling numbers should rise against the Power this weekend.
Isaac Smith
Scored a decent 87 last weekend against the Cats but it’s his matchup against the Dockers that we really like. Fremantle allow the second highest fantasy points per game, behind only the Hawks, so this should be a free flowing, high scoring game.
Jared Polec
Scored 91 in the Power’s win over North Melbourne on the weekend and has a decent matchup against the Demons this week. Loves racking up handball receives and slamming it on the boot with 16, 12 and 15 kicks in the last 3 weeks. If he can lay 3 or 4 tackles should score well.
Alex Neal-Bullen
One of the cheaper favourites at the beginning of the year has had a bit of a resurgence of late with a 92 and 95 in his last two games. Averages just 80 on the season so far but Melbourne still have plenty of injury concerns so should be seeing more midfield time once again.
Defenders
Dylan Roberton
Is the highest scoring defender in the competition this season and at $11,800 is over $2k cheaper than the next best. Scored 105 in a losing side last weekend and should be around the 100 mark again. The Saints love giving him the ball on the run and also picks up cheap possessions when passing around the backline as the loose man.
Lachie Weller
Hoping for another big score from the Fremantle-Hawthorn game here with Lachie Weller. Had 72 in the game against the Eagles last weekend but ultimately needs the Dockers to have a good game to score well. Fingers crossed with this one.
Ruck
Majak Daw
Averages just 48 in 2017 but gets the first ruck responsibilities this weekend with Todd Goldstein being dropped. $7,850 for a first choice ruckman is too good to refuse, should bump his 48 up to a 70 on hitouts alone.
