Flemington hosts Saturday racing this week and it's a pretty good program too with the running of the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning the highlight. Chris Waller’s Switzerland is the current favourite and the main race will start at 4:15pm (AEDT) in Race 8. The first race of the afternoon will start at 12:15pm (AEDT) with gallopers running on a Good track. My three best bets of the program are below!

Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, February 15th 2025
Race 3: Frances Tressady Stakes - 1:20pm (AEDT)
(3) Fancify may lead this field and think the barrier is a big advantage here (2) because the Hickmott trained mare won’t have to use too much petrol to get there. She has won 5 times from 8 starts on Good tracks and has won 4 times over this distance. She was 2nd after leading last start over 1200m but they did go hard. Over the 1400m I am hoping she gets a slower first half of the race which leads to her kicking on in the straight.
(1) Molly Bloom trialled well so could Place here despite her needing more ground in a few weeks time. Her Place price is currently $2.30 which looks good.
(2) Plenty Of Ammo is resuming here and will be running on over the final 200m. Trialed poorly by all reports though.
(3) Fancify WIN
$3.50 (2 Units)
Race 4: The All Star Mile Owner Ambassador Trophy - 1:55pm (AEDT)
(6) Verdad is out of my sack book but only for a Place bet for those who are keen. The frustrating gelding is clearly the best horse in the race but he just doesn’t like winning. From barrier 3 he should sit in around 4th to 6th on the outside and there should be no excuses here down the long straight not to Place again. He ran on well for 3rd at this track on January 18 but that was over 1400m. The extra 200m looks fine and at $1.90 a Place, the plan is to get some money in the bank for our third best bet of the day.
(11) Watadeel has been running poorly but he is big odds here I reckon. He ran on well last start and he gets his best distance here I reckon.
(8) Ziryab won well last start on a tight track in Mornington but Flemington is bigger and wider which is a concern. Was poor here in his only start here but he should be better with a second look.
(6) Verdad Place
$1.90 (4 Units)
Race 8: Black Caviar Lightning (GROUP 1) - 4:15pm (AEDT)
(11) Switzerland is resuming here and JMac has chosen to ride in Melbourne instead of riding on Via SIstina at Sydney. He has beaten most of these horses including a win up the Flemington straight. Rumours are that he might only have 2 starts left in his career and the connections want to go out with a bang. The colt loves Good tracks and he won the Group 2 Coolmore before his break. Will likely sit midfield and start his run at the 300m.
(6) I Am Me trialed well and she has won 10 from 20 starts on Good tracks. She has won 4 from 6 when first up and she will settle just in front of Switzerland so will be in front of him at the 300m. Has barrier 12 and if the ground is better out there, she can go close.
(12) Traffic Warden is resuming after running a poor 10th in The Coolmore in the Spring. Jamie Melham maintains the ride and she knows the Warden well. Jumped out well at this track on February 7.
(11) Switzerland WIN
$2.65 (3 Units)
