Night racing at Moonee Valley continues this Friday, with eight races set down. The rail is out seven metres, the track is Good4 and I suspect with the rail out, dry deck, on speed will be no disadvantage. Adam Page provides his best bets for the card below!

Moonee Valley Racing Tips: Friday October 4th 2024
Race 1: Ladbrokes Form Genius Plate 1200m - 6.15pm AEST
The each way speck for me this meeting comes via first starter (9) Hustle. Corstens/Larkin trains this daughter of Pariah, who has jumped out well in readiness for start one, the latest at Flemington when leading throughout and what I liked is that when asked for the effort, she responded quite well. Holds a forward spot from gate one and for mine, only runs well.
(6) The Grumpy Bear is one of the leading chances. He debuted at Bendigo where he was on speed throughout and he was there to put the race to bed but on debut, condition just gave out late in the piece behind Durova. Better for the run under the belt, he appeals.
(1) Brandjam lands near the front and will run a positive race. He debuted over 1000m at Mornington when attempting to lead throughout and did a good job I thought, with condition just giving out late in the piece. Bred to appreciate 1200m, good racing style, one of the leading contenders.
Race 3: MyRacehorse It's Showtime 1000m - 7.15pm AEST
*SCRATCHED* (6) Under And Over does look the best on the night for mine. Team McEvoy trained mare that resumes and why I like her is a couple of reasons. First, her jumpout work has been more than encouraging for the return and second, she just maps perfect, stalking the likely leader. If she gets clear air, she'll take beating.
(4) Wakanjeja is a quality mare that is resuming for Phillip Stokes. She doesn't have the best of racing patterns but there is good speed in front, which should ensure she gets her chance to finish over the top, and she too has jumped out well for the return. One of the hardest to beat for mine.
(5) Aminatu is the likely leader and if this track is playing up/in, she becomes dangerous. She was tardy and couldn't lead at Bendigo last time, which pretty much sealed her fate. She tends to save her best for The Valley, she looks the leader and will give a big sight.
Race 7: Western General Bodyworks Handicap 1200m - 9.15pm AEST
(9) Persian Spirit has done little wrong in an eight start career and off the return, he's the one to beat. He resumed at Geelong when on speed and was trucking before being clicked up by Willow and away he went, proving quite dominant in the run to the line. Good improvement to come and up to 1200m, he's the one.
(10) Wolfgang is a very interesting runner. He returns to racing as a gelding for Kennewell/Yeomans and his best is certainly good enough to take out a race like this given his efforts as a 2YO were quite good and overall, this isn't a deep contest. Jumpout work has been strong, watch the market.
(7) Sparkling returns to a bending track and is dangerous at odds. She ran down the straight at Flemington where she got back and while she was never a winning factor, she did make up headway and was a pass mark in defeat behind Moby Dick. She can bounce back.
