NBA Betting Tips: Monday, March 4th 2024
New York Knicks at Cleveland Cavaliers
Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, 11am AEDT
The Knicks are currently going through by far their worst stretch of the season to date. They managed to win only one out of four games from their recent homestand and have a 3-8 record across their last 11 games overall. Injuries to the likes of Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, and Mitchell Robinson is one of the main reasons why they’re struggling, and unfortunately the trio will remain on the sidelines on Monday. Elsewhere, the Cavaliers haven’t quite been at their best since the All-Star break but do enter this game having won three of their past four. The Cavs most recently made light work of the Pistons by 10 points and will now return home after their mini two-game road trip. All things considered, the Cavs have been solid at home all season (20-10) and should be able to add another relatively comfortable win to their tally when they take on the out-of-sorts Knicks.

Indiana Pacers at San Antonio Spurs
Frost Bank Center, 11am AEDT
The Pacers barely fired a shot in their recent loss against the Pelicans where they were blown out by 27 points. 2x All-Star Tyrese Haliburton had the worst game of his young career (0 points, 0-7FG) and his teammates didn’t fare much better. The Pacers have now lost two of their last three games and have slipped to eighth in the East standings as a result. Meanwhile, the Spurs finally snapped their five-game losing streak last start with a thoroughly impressive win against the Thunder. Victor Wembanyama was dominant in the clash with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and five blocks. The Spurs will take a lot of confidence out of that performance and that will hold them in good stead on Monday when they host the Pacers who have struggled on the road in 2024. With that in mind, taking the Spurs to cover the spread certainly appeals.
San Antonio Spurs +6.5

OKC Thunder at Phoenix Suns
Footprint Center, 1:30pm AEDT
The Thunder were rolling with six wins in a row when they visited San Antonio on the weekend with seemingly another easy kill on their hands, however, the Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama, proved to be too strong when it mattered most (118-132). The Thunder have now lost four of their last six road games which would be starting to concern the organisation. Likewise, the Suns lost their most recent outing against the Rockets despite going into the clash as the overwhelming favourites (109-118). That was the Suns third loss from their last five games although their first loss at home from their past 10. Still, the Suns have defended home court admirably since the turn of the new year and will host a Thunder team that hasn’t enjoyed much success on their travels. That makes for a decent bet on the talented Suns here.
