NBA Playoffs Betting Tips: Conference Finals Game 7
Miami Heat at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, Tuesday 10:30am AEST
The Boston Celtics will be attempting to enter unchartered territory on Tuesday as they aim to be the first team in NBA Playoffs history to comeback from 3-0 down to win a best-of-seven series.
Three teams have managed to force a Game 7 after being down 3-0, but all failed to finish the job. However, the Celtics are the first team to come back from such a deficit and play the deciding game on their home floor, which gives them a much better chance than those that have come before them.
Derrick White was the hero in Game 6 for the Celtics with his putback layup sealing the win on the buzzer. On the other hand, a missed boxout from Heat role player Max Strus could end up haunting him and the rest of Heat nation for a very long time if they’re to end up losing the series.
Nevertheless, we move onto Game 7 at the TD Garden in Boston where the Celtics are currently priced as the red-hot favourites ($1.32 vs $3.43).
Having homecourt advantage as well as momentum in this series are clear reasons for their favouritism, although the 7.5-point line is a bit much in my opinion.
The Celtics have lost 2/3 of their home games in this series and also lost 2/4 against the 76ers last round, as well as dropping one against the Hawks in Round 1 of the playoffs. So, to say they’ve been vulnerable on their home deck when they’ve been listed as hot favourites would be an understatement.
Despite choking a 3-0 lead, I still believe the Heat are a decent chance of prevailing in Game 7 and are well over the odds in the head-to-head market. However, for a bit more insurance I’ll be backing them in to cover the big spread for a couple of units.
Miami Heat +7.5
$1.88 (2 Units)

Jimmy Butler 30+ Points – Couldn’t hit anything in Game 6 but still finished with 24 points. He’ll likely play all 48 minutes and will take a ton of shots.
Jayson Tatum 25+ Points – Is a little bit unpredictable although will obviously play big minutes and take plenty of shots. Should get to at least 25 here.
Gabe Vincent 12+ Points – Played 41 minutes last game and as long as his role continues, he’ll put enough points on the board to give us the green tick.
Caleb Martin 5+ Rebounds – All heart and all hustle. Had 15 rebounds in big minutes in Game 6 and will get plenty of opportunity again on Tuesday.
