Sha Tin is spoiling us today! The 2nd half of this race meeting is stacked to the rim with exciting prospects and highly capable sprinters. Blake Lalor is keen for a big day and is hoping to find a few shorties that are too good for their rivals amongst the plethora of talent that is on display.
Race 5
(4) Ching has been unlucky not to win both starts this prep and should be improving again now that he’s 3rd up and fitter. Karis Teetan gets the nod to take over from Luke Currie and from gate 3 he looks like he’ll get every possible chance. Barring bad luck I expect this horse to win well.
(9) Ha Lee Charm is an interesting runner in this event for Zac Purton and John Size. He returns after almost 6 months off the racing scene after performing very poorly in 2 attempts. He’s trialled well and showed signs of improvement.
(3) Golden Bull is becoming costly for backers as he’s yet to win but has placed on all 3 occasions in his short career. Wouldn’t surprise me to see this trend continue but he’ll have to improve to win this I suspect.

Race 6
(2) Righteous Doctrine has struck a rich vein of form recently and can continue his winning ways here after winning back-to-back races in this class. He remains in C4 today, carries a big weight for Silvestre De Sousa and is drawn wide but has found a race with plenty of pace. This should afford the horse every opportunity to work into the finish late and play a significant role.
(11) Sun Of Makfi is nothing if not consistent but lacks conviction. He’ll probably be around the mark again but might find a few better as is becoming typical of him.
(3) Skyeye Supreme is ready to win a race but has bumped into quite a few speedy types here. He needs to lead to be effective and probably needs less pace in the race than he’s found today.

Race 9
(1) Sky Field is the best sprinter in this field plain and simple. With the right run and luck he should win this race or at least be very competitive at his best. Hugh Bowman is a quality booking for this bloke and should get everything out of him on the dash to the post.
(2) Super Wealthy is the 2nd best sprinter in the race and boasts a phenomenal record down the straight with 4 attempts for 3 wins and a 3rd placing. He’ll go well again.
(6) Cordyceps Six hasn’t had much luck with barrier draws and positioning in his recent races but he’s been running well regardless. Barrier 1 is probably the worst draw down the straight so I’m hesitant to take the short price on offer. That said the horse loves this trip and is one of the best straight trackers in Hong Kong currently.
