Esports Betting Tips: Monday October 10th
JD Gaming vs G2 Esports - LoL World Championship 2022
G2 Esports kicked off LoL Worlds 2022 with a rough loss against DWG KIA, but they got back on track by humiliating Evil Geniuses on Saturday, proving that Europe is still much stronger than North America. Unfortunately, if they wish to make it out of the group stage and into the playoffs, G2 Esports will also have to show something against Asian teams.
Although it’s likely for G2 Esports to win against some Asian teams, it’s hard to imagine them succeeding against JD Gaming, who are arguably one of the main favourites to win the whole thing. Moreover, JD Gaming has looked incredible so far in the tournament, and we must also consider that Chinese teams do well against European squads historically.
The question for this match is not so much whether JD Gaming will win but what G2 Esports can do to cause an upset. And even though anything can happen, a lot will have to go right for G2 Esports for them to come out on top.
Individually, JD Gaming feature better players across all roles, except for maybe mid lane. But that won’t be enough. This is a one-way road, and unless JD Gaming shoot themselves in the foot, they should come out ahead with plenty to spare.
It’s important to note that JD Gaming tend to fall behind in games, which gives us some in-play betting opportunities, assuming G2 Esports will grab an early lead. But even if that happens, you can count on JD Gaming’s mid and late-game team fighting and their superior macro play to carry them to victory.

Rogue vs Top Esports - LoL World Championship 2022
Rogue shocked the world on Saturday when they humiliated DRX, which set them up nicely to fight for a playoff spot. It was a very clean performance from the European representatives and one that made all EU fans proud.
But beating DRX and winning against Top Esports are two entirely different teams. DRX might hail from the Korean league, but they’re not nearly as strong as many believe, making it very easy to overreact to Rogue’s success this weekend.
Individually, Top Esports are much stronger than Rogue, especially in the top and bottom lane, where I expect the quality gap to show the most. But even though I can confidently say that Top Esports are much stronger, they’re also a team that can lose to anyone on any given day.
Inconsistency is and has been Top Esports’ main characteristic for years, which is one of the big reasons why all their games are so enjoyable to watch – you never know what to expect. So the question for this match is; which version of Top Esports will we see?
Considering their tendency to fight and not being afraid to run into their opponents, which is also one of the main reasons why Top Esports are not to be trusted, makes me believe that we’re in for a very bloody match. Of course, that is assuming Rogue can survive the early game, but I’ve seen enough from the LEC champions to believe they can push Top Esports to the limit.

DWG KIA vs Evil Geniuses - LoL World Championship 2022
DWG KIA won against G2 Esports in the group stage opener, but they suffered a stomping from JD Gaming, who proved once again why Korean teams struggle against Chinese squads. The LPL champions outclassed DWG KIA, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this is still a very strong team.
Evil Geniuses, on the other side, are not. After two rounds of play, Evil Geniuses are 0-2, which already includes a defeat against G2 Esports and a terrible one at that. And if EG can’t win against G2, they surely won’t stand a chance against DWG KIA.
Perhaps I would have some hope for Evil Geniuses had they shown something this weekend, but their disorganized approach to their games and abysmal drafting leaves me certain that EG might end the group stage 0-6.
I don’t like backing favourites in BO1s, but this is a match DWG KIA can’t lose, else they’ll put themselves in danger of not reaching the playoffs. Expect the former LoL world champions to get it done with plenty to spare.
