The last week of the byes bring us yet another Thursday night game with the Pies heading out west to take on the Dockers. We have a preview for that game, and all six games, in our Round 13 betting tips.

Fremantle Dockers Vs. Collingwood Magpies (Thursday, June 25 at 6:10pm AWST)
Collingwood fans have had plenty to be excited about in 2015. They are sitting in the top four with eight wins on their record and looking like one of the better sides in the comp. The have certainly surprised us with some of their performances. However, travelling to Domain Stadium to play the ladder leaders is a whole different ball game.
The Magpies haven’t been tested like this all year and I’m not sure they will be able to handle the heat. Yes, the Dockers did look a little worse for wear towards the byes, averaging only 64 points a game (two wins and a loss), but they will be refreshed and Ross Lyon would have ironed out some of the kinks that were starting to show.
The Dockers have won the last two against the Pies, including keeping the Magpies to just 46 points on the road last year. Aaron Sandilands starred in that game and he will likely cause the Pies plenty of trouble this week. I’m thinking Fremantle get the job done here, but the 22-point line on offer looks a little rich.

Sydney Swans Vs. Richmond Tigers (Friday, June 26 at 7:50pm AEST)
The Tigers head to the SCG on Friday night to take on the Swans and it looks like they will be meeting a little friend known as disappointment. Let’s face it, the Tigers were overhyped after their victory against the Dockers and they were ultimately found out against the Eagles last week. The Swans, meanwhile, are coming off a bye, fresh and ready to continue putting wins on the board.
The Tigers won’t find it easy at the SCG. They haven’t won at the ground for almost eight years, losing the last seven. The yellow and black army will be harking on about their upset victory of the Swans last season at ANZ, but it’s very unlikely that will happen again.
The Swans are one of the best tackling side in the comp, while the Tigers struggle in this department. On the flipside of that, the Swans also get more uncontested footy. The four-goal line is tricky, so we will be getting on the Swans head-to-head with the Ladbrokes promo, as well as an under 39.5 bet.

Hawthorn Hawks Vs. Essendon Bombers (Saturday, June 25 at 1:40pm AEST)
The struggling Bombers take on the flourishing Hawks this Saturday afternoon. After a sketchy start to the season the Hawks have won three in a row and starting to look more like their dominating selves. The Bombers, meanwhile, continue to struggle, only managing one win in the last five games.
Essendon will be happy to have had a break last week, while the Hawks played on the Thursday night last round so have had a long break. This one looks very simple to us – Hawthorn will be too strong. They start games so well that the Bombers will drop their heads and find it hard to claw back. The only problem here is the big line. Looks too fishy to touch, so we will sit this one out.

Brisbane Lions Vs. Adelaide Crows (Saturday, June 27 at 4:35pm AEST)
Adelaide have struggled lately and so they will be happy to be facing the woeful Brisbane Lions this Saturday at the Gabba. The fact this is up in Brisbane shouldn’t bother the Crows considering the have won the last two meetings at the ground.
I think you simply have to take this game on form and while the Crows struggled against the Hawks last round, the Lions were absolutely smashed by the Bulldogs last week. The Crows also played on a Thursday last week so will come into this game with a couple of extra days break. Taylor Walker kicked six against the Lions the last time these two teams played and will likely cause them some headaches again. He doesn’t need to kick six for the Crows to win, however, with the Crows midfield and big Sauce Jacobs having enough class to get them over the line.

St Kilda Saints Vs. Western Bulldogs (Saturday, June 27 at 7:20pm AEST)
Saturday night at Etihad Stadium will be all about redemption for the Bulldogs after they gave a ten-goal lead to the Saints back in Round 6 of this season. There is no doubt that game will be in the back of both team’s heads.
The Saints come into this one after a break last week. They will be fresh and like their chances. The Bulldogs, however, will have plenty of confidence after their massive win against the Lions last week. The Bulldogs kicked a big 22 goals in that game and looked very dangerous going forward. That’s where they will win this game against the Saints. They will also be happy to have Dale Morris back in the side to help out in the defence. Getting on the Bulldogs in a relatively close game.

Carlton Blues Vs. Gold Coast Suns (Sunday, June 28 at 3:20pm AEST)
The two worst sides in the comp play each other this Sunday. Prior to Carlton’s match with Port Adelaide last week we would have called this one a coin flip, but then the Blues won and now we don’t know where we stand with them. There is no doubt they looked hugely improved last week and if they play anywhere near as strong, the Suns will struggle.
All the talk throughout the week was that Gary Ablett was a chance to play. If he did make it onto the park we might have been keen on the Suns, but he has pulled out and so we have to lean towards a Blues victory. The Suns will be happy to get a few solid ins and just as happy to see the Blues without Gibbs and Walker, but ultimately this game will be tough for them to win.
