Another strong Wednesday of racing is upon us with good meetings at Randwick-Kensington and Bendigo where we can hopefully find a few winners. Balaklava will also play host to a feature meeting, with the running of the Balaklava Cup.
Billy Bestford has had a look across the three meetings and has found his best bets for the day.
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, September 15th
Randwick-Kensington Race 1
Reasonably open race to start the day but (1) Antonio Giovanni has looked the part in a few trials and finally makes his debut today. Mcdonald goes straight on here and we know the incredible strike rate that Waller and himself have recently. I think at the price currently he looks a bet and might go on to win a few good races.

Randwick-Kensington Race 4
(3) Jojo Was A Man has been a bit costly in his short career so far but I thought his last start run here was full of merit. Made a heap of ground late on and was doing his best work the further they went. The rise in trip here looks ideal and I’m happy to see Bowman has stuck again for the ride. Small field today should help his chances as well.
Randwick-Kensington Race 5
(6) Promise Of Success is another who’s been costly to punters but you could argue she’s been very unlucky in a few of those starts. Her pattern doesn’t help but she has plenty of upside and I think the freshen up will have done her a world of good and should be ready to fire first up here. Thinking the wide draw will be of benefit and in the small field she shouldn’t find herself too far off the leaders. Hoping the track plays pretty fair and she’ll be strongest late.
(6) Promise Of Success
$2.80
Balaklava Race 8
Thought (5) Ritratto could definitely turn the tables of Second Slip here. Up to 1600m is his bread and butter with three wins and two 2nds from six starts over this trip and should be ready to peak now 3rd up, building towards a win. He gets a 2.5kg wait swing on SS, who is a query over this trip for mine and I just think at the current prices Ritratto looks a cracking bet. There doesn’t look too much speed on paper so barrier 14 could see him cross pretty easily and sit just off the speed and expecting him to be strong late.
Bendigo Race 8
(13) More Secrets will look to defend her unbeaten record as she return for her 2nd prep. Craig Williams was aboard for both starts in her first prep, for a couple of very impressive wins and she will take a heap of improvement following a spell. Jumped out well recently at Flemington so long as Willo can find the gaps in the straight at the right time, I think she will be too good for these.
