Entropiq vs AVE
Funspark ULTI 2021: Europe Season 2
Entropiq and AVE will clash in the Funspark ULTI 2021: Europe Season 2 Group D elimination match, meaning a loss here would mean the end for one team, while the other gets another shot at the playoffs in the decider match.
With so much on the line, we can be sure both sides will give their all, which could produce an exciting and close affair. That, however, seems highly unlikely to happen, considering Entropiq are a much better team.
AVE have had some flashes of greatness, however, this is still a semi-pro team, whereas Entropiq at least field known players. Formerly known as EPG Family, Entropiq recently attended EPIC CIS League Spring 2021 and Spring Sweet Spring #2: Main Swiss Stage, where they were relatively successful.
Although still a relatively unknown side, Entropiq are mostly recognised for their upset 2-0 victory against Natus Vincere a couple of weeks back. To that, they added another upset 2-0 sweep of Virtus.pro a few days later.
Those results don't convince me Entropiq are in any way comparable to the best CIS CS:GO teams, but they have at least been playing good teams. Entropiq shouldn't be losing this game, nor should AVE come even close to winning.
HYENAS vs Nemiga Gaming
Funspark ULTI 2021: Europe Season 2
The Funspark ULTI 2021: Europe Season 2 Group D Winners' Match will feature a clash between HYENAS and Nemiga Gaming. HYENAS enter this bout off a 2-1 victory against Entropiq, whereas Nemiga swept AVE (2-0) in their Group D opening match.
Neimga and HYENAS last met way back in December 2019 and January 2020, while HYENAS' core were still playing under North. Nemiga won the first bout 16-9 but lost the reverse fixture 12-16.
Those results don't mean much, considering over a year has passed since. Regardless, I have a reason to believe this match will play out similarly, i.e. it will be a close one with no clear winner.
HYENAS are 1-2 in their last three with losses to FunPlus Phoenix (0-2) and Anonymo Esports (1-2), and a win against Entropiq (2-1). Nemiga are 2-1 in their last three with a loss to ALTERNATE aTTax (1-2) and two victories against BLINK (2-1) and AVE (2-0).
One thing that concerns me about Nemiga is their poor form. They were very good earlier this year but are not ranked no.52 in the world. This is still better than HYENAS (62nd), but it's not very good.
I favour HYENAS slightly, but not enough to side with them at 1.61. They might have a higher ceiling, but we have yet to see any solid performances from them. If the Danes show up, they might win, but I don't expect them to walk away with a clean sweep. Take the over 2.5 maps!
Dynasty vs LowLandLions
Dutch League 2021 Summer
The League of Legends Dutch League (DL) might not be known for international success, nor does it feature any star LoL players. However, it's a highly competitive league with six teams and very little to set them apart.
The DL 2021 Summer will kick off with a clash between last split's regular-season champions Dynasty and the DL 2020 Summer champions LowLandLions. The teams will meet on the Summoner's Rift on Tuesday, June 2, for the first time since February.
Dynasty beat LowLandLions twice last split, however, they enter this bout as 3.50 underdogs. That doesn't surprise me one bit, seeing how they have parted ways with their entire roster during the offseason.
Dynasty are essentially a completely different team heading into the summer split, so it's safe to say they won't be nearly as successful they were a few months back. Dynasty's current roster is comprised of rookies and former substitute players.
LowLandLions have also made changes to their roster, replacing every member of the team except for mid laner Max "sumi" de Beer. Similar to Dynasty, they have acquired a few rookies, but LowLandLions seem to be stronger than last split overall.
However, one thing that hasn't changed is the teams' coaches, which is an essential factor, and it should give Dynasty a slight advantage. Although they still field lesser-known (and likely worse) players, that doesn't necessarily justify the generous odds.
This is the season's opening match between two teams that have completely rebuilt their rosters, which leads me to believe it can easily swing both ways. Take the outsiders!
