NBL24 Round 4 Preview & Betting Tips
Sydney Kings vs Tasmania JackJumpers
Sunday 4pm AEDT, October 22nd, Qudos Bank Arena
Picking up where they left off in NBL24 are the Sydney Kings. Despite massive roster turnover in the off-season they’ve been able to come out of the blocks quickly with four wins from five games to enter Sunday’s action in second spot and only behind Melbourne United.
The Kings were too strong at home for the Wildcats last outing, defeating them by 13 points to make it back-to-back double-figure margin wins. The only knock on the Kings form in this early stage of the season is that all four of their wins have come against the bottom four sides.
Jaylen Adams has led the way on offence on most nights and comes into this one averaging a tick over 20 points per game, and his current numbers are almost identical to those he put up in his MVP season in NBL22.
Elsewhere, the Tasmania JackJumpers would be content with their start to the season. They enter Round 4 with a 3-2 record and currently find themselves in fourth spot in the standings.
However, the JackJumpers lost their most recent outing, going down to the Phoenix on the road by a single point (86-85). They weren’t quite at their stingy best on the defensive end in that clash and haven’t been getting enough out of their big men on offence.
Regardless, many have the JackJumpers as one of the teams to beat in NBL24. They lacked another elite scoring option to support Milton Doyle last season but certainly look to have filled that void with Jordon Crawford producing at a high level early doors.
Match prediction: The Sydney Kings will start as the favourites in this Sunday afternoon clash simply due to the fact that they have home court advantage. The current handicap is set at around 3.5 points at most bookies, and that number seems about right.
Instead, I’ll be looking to play the unders in the total points market which just seems far too high considering recent trends. Seven of the Kings last nine games have gone under the the total match points line, while each of their last four meetings with the JackJumpers have also gone under the current total of 177.5 points.
