We’ve got good racing throughout the country today with a strong meeting at Canterbury as well as Sale playing host to an 8 race card. There’s been a bit of rain around at both venues so we will be looking for some horses who get through the going.
As usual, Billy Bestford has cast his eye across the day’s racing and brings you his best bets to get us over the midweek hump!
Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday, June 9th
Canterbury Race 2
2) Ibaraki looks a serious horse going off what we’ve seen at the trials. Stable has taken plenty of time with this horse and Tommy Berry takes the ride today after riding in both winning trials. Keen to see what he can do here on debut and confident he’ll go onto bigger and better things.
Canterbury Race 4
(5) Miss Fox was very well supported in the market when first up over this trip on the Kenso track. She will be much fitter for that and is a winner 2nd up in the past. Will be suited getting onto a wet track and still has plenty of scope to improve.
Canterbury Race 5
Pretty keen on (5) Fastconi who looks ready to win now 4th up. Been knocking on the door for his 2nd career win and interestingly will wear blinkers for the first time today. The low draw should see him roll forward and hopefully Jmac can do the rest.
Sale Race 2
(11) The Art Of Flying looks very hard to beat even despite the wide draw. This will be his first start as a gelding and recently won a jump out in good style. Has a 3rd behind Anamoe which is clearly good enough for this and I expect he will win and go onto bigger races this prep.

Sale Race 8
(9) Yulong Impact should only improve on the back of a good maiden win last start. That was on a heavy track at Moe so the sting out of the ground will be no issue. Like him stepping up to this trip and Zahra taking the ride from the perfect draw is a likeable setup. Looks a bit more progressive than a few of these so keen to be with him.
