Welcome to our horse racing preview and betting tips for racing on Tuesday, October 1st.
We focus on racing at Grafton and Swan Hill for Tuesday's Australian horse racing. Luke Krahe has done all the form and suggested his best bets of the day below!
Horse Racing Tips: Tuesday, October 1st
Grafton Race 6 (Market)
(1) Big Brook has been to the races once, it was north of the border at the Sunny Coast a little over a fortnight ago. He was easy in the betting and ended up starting double figure odds. He was formerly trained by Brett Cavanough and trialed well enough with that yard before being transferred north prior to his debut. He was mid-field in the run at start one, didn’t show a lot of acceleration but kept coming in the straight and ran third, going down by about a length. He is drawn well and gets an extra furlong, hopefully the speed is genuine and he will be a little sharper. The interesting runner and one I am most aware of is the Toby Edmonds debutant (10) Foxy Secret. She was first seen at the trials back in February before going to the paddock, three trials this time in with the latest resulting in a win. Watch the betting closely, if the money comes for one from this yard on debut you don’t want it being a loser for you.
Grafton Race 7 (Market)
We are banking on a double from the Fogden stable, they produce both of our tips here at Grafton today. (2) Dubai Tycoon has had three starts this prep, winning one of them when resuming at the Sunshine Coast. He was then poor in town in Brisbane and then went to the Sunny Coast again. HE sat up on the speed and just found a couple better. He was officially beat 0.3 lengths to run third, the only time he has missed a place was that run at Eagle Farm. Drawn well, he will be up on the speed and maybe double down if he lands on the bunny.
Swan Hill Race 4 (Market)
A few of the big stables feature here, we will be on the Hayes/Hayes/Dabernig trained (12) Sacred Goddess. She has bene to the races twice and been beaten by the barest possible margin on both occasions. She sat three-wide on the speed and chased hard on debut when beaten as favourite, official margin 0.1 lengths. She then went to Bairnsdale and again was a well-supported favourite, led everywhere but the post, this time again beaten the same margin 0.1 lengths. Both of those runs were on the heavy tracks and she finds herself on top of the ground for the first time. Drawn well she should be on the bunny and giving them something to chase. The main dangers appear to be the Bussuttin/Young trained (2) Charvet fresh and (7) La Chevalee from the Maher/Eustace stable having start two.

Swan Hill Race 5 (Market)
(1) Annobrete has had one start, that was at Wangaratta two weeks ago where he was unwanted in the betting. He drifted from single figures all the way out to an official SP of $18, the betting told us he wasn’t ready but he was super in defeat. He was slowly away and copped a bump at the start but he didn’t lose confidence and not chase like so many newbies can when things don’t go right early. He was well back in the field settling and ran on well, beaten out of a place into fourth under 3 lengths from the winner. A horse that he beat home that day has since come out and won at Benalla on Friday just gone, so the form lines look ok for a race like this. He jumps from 1000m to 1300m which looks ideal, should be able to settle closer and be strong tp the line again. Each-way all day at the double figure odds?
