Horse Racing Tips: Sunday, September 8th
Mudgee Race 2 (Market)
(5) Sandstorm has been to the races twice, he debuted at Tamworth and although he was ok, he had every chance. He had plenty of support that day and it has been a good form reference going forward. He then went to Dubbo and nothing went right. He was only fairly away and squeezed out near last early, the jockey saved ground and he ran on hard and looked the winner but just wasn’t good enough. This looks no harder, he gets the good draw and the step up to the 6 furlongs looks ideal. I can see him a lot closer with a better get away and ready to pounce at the top of the straight. (1) Duchess Of Windsor was good at her first prep in harder races around the provincials, she has only been fair at the trials and will want further. She looks the lay of the day.
Mudgee Race 5 (Market)
The Bjorn Baker stable is on fire in all parts of the state at the moment, and there is no hotter rider anywhere than Aaron Bullock. (8) Twilight Sun won on debut at Nowra, he was backed as if there was no settling and started well into the black after a couple of good trials. He had a good run in transit but didn’t have a lot of room when looking for a run, shoved into the clear late and burst through to win narrowly in a blanket finish. Drawn well again and with Bullock going on, he should be a pair back on the outside and not be needing the luck that wasn’t there at his first run. It’s always tough to go out of maiden grade against other former winners, but this looks as easier BM58 as you will get to take that step.
Sale Race 4 (Market)
(4) Miss Dynamic has been a little one-paced at her last couple, but I revert back to her run fresh on the heavy track against the girls. She over-raced and improved to the turn between runners before hitting a brick wall early in the straight. She got clear soon after and ran on well into a place. Her last couple have been in harder races than this, back against the girls and drawn well up in trip I can see her settling closer. She handles the sting out of the ground and looks a great each-way bet in an open race at the double figure odds. A big watch goes on (8) Jacin Tee who has only been to the races once, that was in town back in the Autumn in a harder race than this against the babies. If there is any support for her fresh today, don’t have her going around a loser for you.
