Horse Racing Tips: Friday, April 24th
Port Macquarie Race 1 - (Market)
(1) Bravio will find this easier than whet he has been racing so far in his 4-start career, he didn’t show a lot at three starts before going to the paddock. He resumed at Wyong three weeks ago on a wet track, after beginning awkwardly he was stuck three and four wide throughout without cover. He was beaten 4 lengths in a race that favoured those up on the speed and closer in. T has proven a good form reference, the winner has come out and placed in town in a much harder BM70, the third horse has led for a long way when second at Newcastle in a harder maiden and a horse that finished behind him that day has since won a Muswellbrook maiden. If he lobs one-out and one-back, go again in the run.
Port Macquarie Race 3 - (Market)
(5) O’Driscoll resumed at Taree in a similar race, after settling mid-field on the rails, he stuck on well to just miss the placings in a race where it was favoured to be closer to the speed. He then went to Gosford in a harder race, had his chance but was a little plain. That race has proven a good from reference, two horses that finished down the track have come out and won since. He maps well and hopefully he gets a drying track, he has won 2/5 when third-up and should be a lot sharper back in this grade.
Gold Coast Race 6 - (Market)
(1) Bold Warrior has been u for a while, his win here thre weeks ago had to be seen to be believed. He was caught wide on the speed without cover, the pace was on and as they straightened he took over and ran away to bolt in by 4 lengths. He was very well backed and it was on from the start and he didn’t look like slowing down. He will no doubt push on from the wide gate again and be close to the speed, if he gets one off the fence and repeats that performance with similar splits, they won’t be catching him. (2) Peppi La Few is probably the main danger coming off back-to-back-to-back wins, he was very short and well backed in this grade when winning on the same day three weeks back. He has good tactical speed but can he cop the pressure form the outside throughout?
Werribee Race 4 - (Market)
(6) Olive is a 10-start maiden so you could say that she has had enough starts (placed at 6 of them), but I like the way she returned from the paddock last start. She was at Kilmore and was well backed from $4.80 - $3.60 with the VOP, settled up outside the leader and stuck on well for second. She has a great SP profile through her career, she was 3/1 against Diamond effort going back 5 runs. She comes back against the girls today and draws well, she has the seed to lead and should be very hard to run down.
