Another Wednesday in Sydney means we have some good quality metro racing to get us through the middle of the week. Today Hawkesbury will play host to an eight race card.
The weather has been spot on in Sydney for the last two weeks which means we will be racing on a good 4.
As usual, Billy Bestford has had a look at the meeting and has found his best bets for the day.
Hawkesbury Racing Tips: Wednesday November 9th
Race 1
Get the feeling you might be advantaged up on speed near the fence here at Hawkesbury today and that makes (3) My Eloise a very likeable option to start the day. She’s been trialling up really nicely for her return and will see every favour in the run from gate two. With just three starts to her name she has a heap of upside still as a 4yo in what looks a weak maiden.
(4) Press Forward is the obvious danger and has the benefit of race fitness on side. Was only just run down late when 3rd up over 1200m and switching back to dry ground might suit him.
(7) La Sophia has won a trial leading into this first run for the new stable and we can expect a good run here fresh. Tom Sherry sticks for the ride after being on board in that trial win.

Race 4
(5) Mabel is back at the track today and I think she looks a great winning chance getting back over the 1000m. She has a great fresh record to go with three wins at this sprint trip. Was tested in some deeper races than this last prep and a recent trial showed enough to think she is ready to win this.
(1 Dalavin was shooting for six straight wins last time out at Randwick where unfortunately he lost the rider at the gates. He’s getting up in the weights now but should see every favour once again up in the lead. He is flying.
(2) Smuggler’s Bay is a good fresh horse and will enjoy the 1000m, having won five from eight starts over this trip. Drops out of a strong bm70 for this and is well in after the claim.
(7) Italian Informant looks the best value chance in the race.
Race 7
(1) Deep Finesse resumes today and will be having his first start since being gelded. This horse started odds on last time we saw him in a bm70 at Randwick. He has flashed ability in his career and the ultimate gear change might do the trick. Two trials leading into this should have him ready to go.
(2) Boomsong has put up his best performances first up has looked very good at the trials. Won his last by a good margin and looks to have upside still.
(6) King Of Naples should be ready to win now 3rd up following two placings to start this prep. Getting up to 1100m now looks ideal and he loves racing here at Hawkesbury.
(9) Yankees won her maiden here over 1000m beating a subsequent multiple Highway winner in the process. Think we can see the best her now into her second prep.
