EPL 2024-25: Matchday 15 Preview & Betting Tips
Everton vs Liverpool
Goodison Park, Saturday 7th December, 11:30pm AEDT
The first Merseyside Derby of the season sees Everton hosting arch rivals Liverpool on Saturday night. Everton are coming off a much needed 4-0 win over Wolverhampton on Thursday morning, ending a five-game winless streak and moving them five points clear of the relegation zone. Liverpool’s four game winning streak came to an end after Fabian Schar’s 90th minute equaliser held Liverpool to a 3-3 draw against Newcastle. The Reds are still comfortably at the top of the table, sitting eight points clear of second placed Chelsea.
Despite the draw, Mo Salah continued his remarkable season with two goals and an assist to move to the top of the golden boot race with 13 goals, as well as being second in the league for assists with 8. Salah has a good record against the Toffees since joining Liverpool, recording seven goals and one assist in eleven Premier League games.
This has been a one-sided rivalry over the last 20 years, and it doesn’t make for great reading for the Toffees. Since 2005, in 39 Premier League matches against Everton Liverpool have had 20 wins, 15 draws and only 4 losses. Everton have a 3-5-6 record this season while the Reds have been unbelievable with a 11-2-1 record. The Reds are the best defence in the league and the second-best attacking side in the league, and will be far too good for Everton.

Fulham vs Arsenal
Craven Cottage, Monday 9th December, 1:00am AEDT

It’s an all-London clash at Craven Cottage on Monday morning as Fulham host third placed Arsenal. The Gunners picked up their third straight win with a 2-0 win over Manchester United, and thanks to Liverpool’s draw against Newcastle they’re now seven points behind the league leaders. At the time of writing Fulham are twelfth with a 5-4-4 record, and are a genuine chance to finish in the top half of the table given they are only three points off sixth place.
The return to form for Mikel Arteta’s side has come on the back of their defence, which has gotten back to the form they displayed in the early parts of the season. Arsenal have conceded only two goals across their last three games, and recorded two clean sheets. In the winning streak Arsenal have scored 10 goals, which sees them move to the third highest scoring team in the Premier League (28). Fulham haven’t been a prolific attacking team, so it will be an area where the Gunners should be able to get a leg up in this clash.
Arsenal have the league’s leading assist getter in Bukayo Saka (10), as well as ten different goal scorers this season. The Gunners have had the wood over Fulham across the last eleven years, with an 8-2-1 record in the last eleven Premier League matchups between the two sides. Six of those eight victories have come by margins of two or more goals, and given the attacking form the Gunners are in, that trend looks set to continue.

Tottenham vs Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Monday 9th December, 3:30am AEDT
*Note this article was written before Tottenham played Bournemouth
Chelsea continue to keep themselves in the title race after moving up to second place after wins over Aston Villa and Southampton. It’s been a dominant week for Chelsea who had an aggregate score of 8-1 over the two games. Tottenham come into this game after being held to a 1-1 draw against Fulham, which caused plenty of frustration given they’d smashed Man City 4-0 in the game prior.
Chelsea are the number one attacking team in the league this season with 31 goals, with Cole Palmer (9 goals, ranked 3rd) and Nicolas Jackson (8 goals, ranked 4th) leading the way. Palmer also ranks third in the Premier League for assists with 6, and is producing another remarkable campaign. Tottenham have scored the equal third most goals in the league (28), which means we could be in for a high scoring affair in North London.
Four of Tottenham’s last seven games have gone over 3.5 total goals, whilst two of the last four Premier League fixtures between Chelsea and Tottenham have seen over 3.5 goals scored. Both teams have shown the capacity to be attacking juggernauts against quality opposition this season, and given the inconsistent nature of Spurs, the total goals market is where we will be going in this clash.
