Leeds United vs Chelsea
Saturday 11:30pm AEDT, Elland Road
Chelsea’s undefeated streak extended to eleven games thanks to an impressive 2-0 win against Everton last week. Chelsea heads away to Elland Road to take on the eleventh placed Leeds United. Chelsea’s remarkable turnaround since January has come on the back of its defence, which has conceded just two goals since Thomas Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard.
Whilst Chelsea are in a rich vein of form, their opponents have struggled of late, with Leeds losing four of their last five matches in the Premier League. These two sides have faced off earlier in the season, with Chelsea picking up a convincing 3-1 victory when the sides met at Stamford Bridge. Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma have led a dominant Chelsea back four that have been near perfect since January.
With the likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz rounding into some good form, Chelsea will have opposing sides extremely worried in the run home to the end of the season. The red hot Blues will win comfortably against Leeds, as they did back in December.
Arsenal vs Tottenham
Monday 3:30am AEDT, Emirates Stadium
On the back of three consecutive wins, Tottenham head to the Emirates full of confidence that they can pick up their second of the season over arch-rivals Arsenal. Arsenal’s last five games represent the story of their season, with two victories, one draw and two losses. They’ve played some incredible football, and some awful football too, there’s absolutely no consistency in this Arsenal outfit.
Tottenham sit five points behind Chelsea in fourth place with a game in hand, a win in Monday’s North London Derby will help Spurs gain some valuable points in bridging the gap to the top four. Tottenham have an impressive record over Arsenal in recent times, they have won their past two Premier League games against the Gunners, including a 2-0 victory when the two sides faced off earlier in the season.
Tottenham haven’t lost to Arsenal since 2018, and will be desperate to keep that record intact. Spurs skipper Harry Kane continued his remarkable campaign as he registered two goals and two assists in the win over Crystal Palace on Matchday 27. Kane leads the league in combined goals and assists with 29. When Kane and Heung Min Son play together this season, Tottenham are tough to beat and this Arsenal side that has struggled for consistency is going to struggle to contain the Tottenham stars.
Manchester United vs West Ham
Monday 6:15am AEDT, Old Trafford
Manchester United produced a massive derby win last week, bringing an end to Man City’s twenty one game winning run. The Red Devils held their spot in second place, with just a point between themselves and third placed Leicester. West Ham got back winning ways with a comprehensive performance in a 2-0 victory against Leeds United.
Jesse Lingard scored once again to continue his rich vein of form since joining West Ham on loan. Lingard has scored three goals in five appearances to keep West Ham well and truly in the hunt for a Champions League berth. However Lingard won’t feature against his parent club, which will leave a massive whole in the Hammer's midfield. United has beaten twice already this season with a 3-1 victory at the London Stadium in the Premier League, and a 1-0 FA Cup win.
The Red Devils have consistently found a way to get the job done this season and will be buoyed by their fantastic win last week. Lingard’s unavailability is a massive loss for West Ham, and you can expect United to take full advantage of that.
