BBL11 Sixers vs Strikers Betting Tips
SCG, Tuesday December 21st, 7.15pm (AEDT)
Sydney Sixers
Predicted XI: Josh Philippe, James Vince, Moises Henriques, Daniel Hughes, Jordan Silk, Dan Christian, Hayden Kerr, Sean Abbott, Chris Jordan, Ben Dwarshuis, Lloyd Pope
The Sixers have started the season in hot form, winning three of their four games, only going down to the Hurricanes in a tough Duckworth Lewis affected game. Sean Abbott comes back into the squad, a much needed addition to their pace attack after Tom Curran was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a back injury.
Steven O’Keefe remains on the sidelines for the Sixers, which means Lloyd Pope will likely get another crack as the front-line spinner. Regardless of their injury list, the Sixers seem to always trot out an XI capable of winning on any given night.
Adelaide Strikers
Predicted XI: Matt Short, Jake Weatherald, Harry Nielson, Jonathan Wells, Matt Renshaw, Thomas Kelly, Liam Scott, Rashid Khan, Daniel Worrall, Peter Siddle, Fawad Ahmed
The Strikers currently sit in 5th place on the BBL11 table with one win and two losses. Unfortunately, their batting depth has really been tested with Alex Carey, Travis Head and Matthew Renshaw out of the side on international duties. Fortunately, Renshaw returns to the side for Tuesday night’s game to bolster the top six, probably at the expense of youngster Daniel Drew.
One thing the Strikers have in their favour is their bowling attack. It’s been rock solid for a few years now, led by the No.1 T20 bowler in the world in Rashid Khan. The strength of their bowling attack always gives them a chance to win.
Match Prediction
Tough to look past the Sixers here. For me, the Strikers batting depth is just a little too thin to compete with a Sixers side that has posted an average score of 188 through four games so far. On the contrary, the Strikers have averaged just 148.6 runs through their three games.
The bookies tend to agree, which is why the Sixers have opened at just $1.53, but I just can’t see it going any other way. Sorry to those who were hunting value tonight.

Josh Philippe has been a man on a mission through the early parts of the BBL11 season. Through four games, he has already blasted 259 runs at an average of 86.33. he passes the 20 run mark 49% of the time, but this season that number has been 75% of the time. Averages 43.0 against the Strikers up from a career domestic T20 average of 34.96.
The ultra consistent Jake Weatherald to score 10+ runs is next no our list. The hard hitting opener passes the 10 run mark 71% of the time dating back to BBL07 and averages 28.29 against the Sixers in eight games.
As always, the third and final leg will be the first wicket to be caught. It saluted once again on Monday night, making it 11/15 wins.
