The $50K AFL Classic Daily Fantasy tournament recently drew to a close at Draftstars and was no doubt a huge success as punters qualified for as little as $10 with the chance to share in the $50,000 up for grabs.
It was a player by the name of 'CJolly' who won the inaugural AFL Classic. He told ex-Hawthorn champion and Draftstars representative Ben Dixon that he spent $60 to qualify for the event which meant he turned just $60 into a huge $10,000. You can check out a little interview with 'CJolly' below.
While the AFL Classic is over, the next big Daily Fantasy Sports tournament series on Draftstars is going to be just as massive - the AFL High Roller Series.
Kicking off in Round 16, the AFL High Roller Series is a weekly $200 entry tournament that features qualifiers for $20 in each subsequent week. The first High Roller was a $3,000 prize pool event with 17 players either qualifying or paying the $200 entry fee.
In the upcoming Round 17, the High Roller features a $10,000 prize pool with 55 players able to qualify or buy-in for $200. There are 10 players who already qualified for the Round 17 High Roller, so up to 45 will have the chance to partake in the event if they cough up $200.
Each High Roller event runs like any multi-round DFS contest on DraftStars whereby players have a $100,000 virtual salary cap to pick their best AFL team with varying costs for players depending on their ability to score fantasy points based on stats like kicks, tackles, handballs and more.
The Draftstars High Roller events run as 8-match Daily Fantasy contests, meaning the Thursday night games aren't included, but your team can be filled with players from any match from Friday night through to the final match on Sunday afternoon.
The Round 18 High Roller will also feature a $10,000 prize pool, but the Round 19 High Roller is advertised as the final contest in the series with the prize pool 'to be announced' - which means it could be even bigger!
