PGA Tour: Memorial Tournament Betting Tips
Muirfield Village Golf Club, Thursday 6th – Sunday 9th June
It was a solid week without setting the world alight at the Canadian Open last weekend as both of our top tips in Shane Lowry and Taylor Pendrith made the cut, finishing T33 and T21 respectively. We’ll be looking to improve on that form as we head to Ohio this week.
The Field
As is the case with PGA Tour elevated events these days, the top players in the world are required to play so the field is absolutely stacked and will be for the next three weeks. World No.1 Scottie Scheffler makes his return to play after missing the Canadian Open and will be hunting his fifth elevated event win of the season.
Other top names in the field this week include Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy, Colin Morikawa, Viktor Hovland, Ludig Aberg and Max Homa.
Past winners of the Memorial who will be looking to add another trophy to the case include Hovland, Billy Horschel, Patrick Cantlay, Matt Kuchar, Justin Rose and Hideki Matsuyama.
The Course
Muirfield Village is known for its meticulous conditioning, strategic layout, and fast, undulating greens. The course features a mix of tree-lined fairways, well-placed bunkers, and water hazards, demanding precision and strategic play. The greens are a standout feature, often requiring a deft touch and a keen eye for reading breaks.
Muirfield Village GC is a 7,500+ yard Par 72 with 68 bunkers and water in play on 13 holes. Like most of Nicklaus’ designs, the challenge increases as you near the hole. Muirfield Village is a proper test of golf and a good warm-up event for the US Open. The fairways are fairly generous but the rough is demanding.
Betting Tips
Patrick Cantlay ($26/Top 10 $3.20)
Never particularly enjoy tipping Cantlay as I find him quite a boring player but you have to put that to the side when you see a course record like his at Muirfield. The world No.9 has played the last seven Memorial tournaments and in that time, has not missed a cut as well as racking up two wins and a further three top 10 finishes.
Keegan Bradley ($56/Top 20 $2.40)
Looking towards the veteran for a bit more value this week as Keegan Bradley brings some impressive form to Muirfield. He has not missed a cut in his last five starts, including a T22 at the Masters, T21 at Well Fargo, T18 at the PGA Championship and T2 at the Charles Scwab. Has plenty of experience at Muirfield, playing the last 10 straight seasons there and making seven cuts in the process.
