NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, 1st of February
Los Angeles Clippers at Indiana Pacers
Gainbridge Fieldhouse, 11am AEDT
The Clippers have had an extremely tough run with injuries over the past 12 months but it hasn’t stopped them staying competitive on a nightly basis. They’ve been in some of their better form in recent weeks, highlighted by their history-breaking win in Washington a few days ago. The Clippers have played each of their last seven games on the road now, winning four of them.
The Pacers pulled off a clutch win against the Thunder last week but came nowhere near close to backing it up against the Mavericks a day later. They were thumped by 27 points on that occasion, making it three double-figure margin losses from their last five outings. The Pacers have had a horrible 12-18 months now and will likely be very active as we approach the trade deadline.
These teams met only a couple of weeks ago in LA and it it’s anything like that meeting, then we’re in for an extremely offensive-minded affair. The Clippers prevailed 139-133 in that outing and have gone onto be the better form team of the two since. With that in mind, there’s no reason as to why they can’t get the job done once again in Indiana.

Sacramento Kings at New York Knicks
Madison Square Garden, 11:30am AEDT
The Kings looked on their way to recording an upset win in Philadelphia last time out, but in true Kings fashion they crumbed in the fourth quarter to suffer yet another defeat. That loss was their sixth in a row and 12th from 15 games in 2022, which has all but derailed any playoffs aspirations they may have had. On a positive note, second-year man Tyrese Haliburton is progressing nicely and looks a star of the future.
The Knicks have failed to live up to expectations this season and are going through a real rough patch at the moment with losses in six of their last seven games. Admittedly, they’ve had a nightmare schedule during that span, but you can’t help but feel that the 2020-21 version of the Knicks would’ve pulled off a few more wins. They enter this slate with a 23-27 record and sit 12th in the East.
The last time these teams met was just under 12 months ago in New York when the Knicks won in a shootout (140-121). That game holds little relevance today and both teams as both teams are worse versions of themselves. With that said, the Knicks have been the more competitive of the two on a consistent basis this season and will see this game as a real chance to try and build some momentum. We expect them to be able to get the job done and cover the relatively small spread.

Toronto Raptors at Atlanta Hawks
State Farm Arena, 11:30am AEDT
The Raptors were unable to get their current road trip off to a winning start after falling to the Bulls by six points, but they bounced back three days later to win their last start game against the Heat in an overtime thriller. That win improved the Raptors record in 2022 to 10-6 as they continue to assault up the standings in the tightly congested East.
The Hawks have been at home for seven of their last eight games and boy have they taken advantage of it. They enter this slate having won each of their last seven games, four of which have been by at least a dozen points in what’s been an impressive run. On the back of their current form, the Hawks are now just one game behind .500 and sit in 10th spot in the East.
If this game was played a couple of weeks ago, then the Raptors would be starting as the favourites despite being the away team. However, the Hawks are soaring at the moment and will be oozing with confidence as they eye off their eighth win in a row. It might be a bit tougher than some of their recent wins, but we expect them to continue their good form and take down the Raptors at home.
