Another weekend of interuppted A-League fixtures means that we have just three games scheduled in Round 10, getting underway with on Saturday from 5.05pm. The Sunday League Shark is back on deck with his preview for all three games below.
A-League Round 10 Betting Tips
Central Coast Mariners vs Newcastle Jets
Saturday 15th January, 5.05pm (AEDT)
The Central Coast Mariners sit in fourth place on the A-League table with a 3-0-2 record through five games. They have won their last two on the trot, both 2-0 wins over Sydney FC and the Western Sydney Wanderers. They are also coming off a 6-0 demolition job over APIA Leichhardt in the FFA Cup in their last game.
You'd think that those few games would have been quite recent for the Mariners, but that FFA Cup win came all the way back on the 21st of December, so it's been nearly three weeks since they played their last competitive match. Luckily, their opponents on Saturday won't have had much playing experience lately either.
The Jets last game came in a loss to Macarthur back on the 19th of December, so they'll no doubt be keen to get back out there after stewing on that performance. The Mariners start as firm favourites at home but I'm siding against them. In home games against Newcastle, they have won just two of their last 10. In that same span, the Jets have picked up six wins and two draws.

Adelaide United vs Melbourne City
Saturday 15th January, 7.45pm (AEDT)
Melbourne City have lost just one game this season, but three draws through their opening six fixtures as them down in fifth spot on the table. They have been more active since Christmas, so will come into this game with some extra match fitness under their belt, having last played on the 9th of January in a draw against Western Sydney.
Adelaide United have struggled in this A-League campaign so far. Through seven games, they have won just one, racking up four draws and two losses along the way. They are coming off a loss to Melbourne Victory in the FFA Cup on the 5th and another draw against the Victory in the A-League on the 8th of January.
Melbourne City start as firm favourites here and it's hard to bet against them given how weak Adelaide have looked this season. Adelaide have won just three of their last eight home games against Melbourne City.
Sydney FC vs Brisbane Roar
Saturday 15th January, 7.45pm (AEDT)
Sydney FC had a slow start to the season but have bounced back in their last two games, winning against WEllington and Macarthur to move up into the top six on the table. They have a 2-2-2 record through six games but have not played a competitive fixture since all the way back on Boxing Day.
It's been even longer for the Brisbane Roar. The Queensland based team has not been able to play a game for over a month now, with their last clash a 1-0 loss to Western United back on the 11th of December. With four games played so far, they will see this break as a full reset and with games in hand, they'll be keen to kick off on the right foot and climb their way up from the bottom of the ladder.
Hard to know much about this match since it's been over a month since the Roar have last played. Will they come out looking like they have been training hard over Christmas or will it be the opposite? I have to side with Sydney FC here with so much unknown.
