Another strong performance in MLB betting tips last week as we hit on 2/3 tips with winners coming at odds of $2.06 and $1.72. We are back this week to have a look at the 12 game slate in the MLB this Thursday, the 10th of September and give our betting tips below.
MLB Betting Tips Thursday 10th of September
Milwaukee Brewers at Detroit Tigers
3.10am (AEST)
The Brewers were comfortably beaten by the Tigers in the first of a three game series on Wednesday, going down 8-3 but they havea great opportunity to bounce back on Thursday with right hander Corbin Burnes on the mound. Burnes has been pitching well since re-joining the rotation a few weeks back and is coming off back to back wins against the Pirates and Indians in which he allowed no earned runs through 12 total innings.
The Brewers will have a significant pitching advantage as left-hander Matthew Boyd lines up for the Tigers. He is 1-5 on the season so far with a pretty hefty 6.64 ERA. He allowed 20 earned runs in just 24.2 innings in the month of August and has struggled against some of the Indians line-up at times.
After suffering a disappointing loss to the Tigers on Wednesday, we like the Brewers to bounce back and level the series here. Not much value about their money line given the strong pitching advantage, but we like them to cover the 1.5 run spread.
Cincinnati Reds at Chicago Cubs
10.15am (AEST)
Yu Darvish has been pitching on another level throughout the MLB season so far and currently leads the National League Cy Young award race. He will be on the mound for the Cubs on Thursday and will be looking to improve on his already dominant 7-1 record with a 1.44 ERA. The right hander was magnificent in his last start, allowing just one run on one hit in over seven innings as the Cubs defeated the Cardinals.
For the Reds it will be Trevor Bauer on the mound. Bauer was a big name when pitching for the Indians in their championship calibre teams in the earlier parts of the decade but has struggled for command through the season so far. He has a 3-3 record with a respectable 2.05 ERA and will be hunting a solid outing after disappointing against the Cubs just two starts ago.
Hard to bet against Darvish at the moment. The right hander is in career best form and is dishing up pure gold every-time he steps onto the mound. Back him to get the job done again on Thursday and help the Cubs extend their lead in the NL Central.
Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks
11.40am (AEST)
Despite all the free-agents coming and going in LA, one thing remains constant. Clayton Kershaw is still the ace at age of 32 years old has started the 2020 MLB season in strong fashion. The 3x Cy Young Award winner has a 5-1 record and a 1.50 ERA through his opening starts and was dominant in his last outing, pitching six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts against the Diamondbacks.
For Arizona, it will be Taylor Clarke on the mound. Clarke made just his third start of the season last week, filling in for Merrill Kelly in the starting rotation. He has a 1-0 record on the season with a 2.96 ERA. It’s safe to say the Dodgers have massive advantages all over the field here including the pitching department.
The Dodgers start as very healthy $1.36 favourites here and even their 1.5 run line is pretty unbackable at just $1.60. Instead we are going to look at the under 9.0 total runs. The two teams played out a high scoring game in the first of the three game series on Wednesday but expect the runs to come down on Thursday with Kershaw on the mound.
