Lewis Hamilton took a commanding lead in the 2018 Formula 1 Drivers Championship two weeks ago when he won his sixth race of the season, the Italian GP. The F1 season continues this weekend as we head to Marina Bay Street Circuit in Marina Bay, Singapore for the annual Singapore Grand Prix.
We take a look at the Singapore Grand Prix and give our best bets for all of the weekend’s action below!
Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix Betting Tips
The Singapore Grand Prix is famous for being the inaugural night race in the Formula, however, it has since been joined by the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Singapore GP was first held at the Marina Bay Circuit in 2008, becoming the first ever Grand Prix held at night and that race was won by Ferrari’s Filipe Massa. Interestingly, Kimi Raikkonen, who has been in fantastic form lately with six podium finishes through his last seven starts, recorded the fastest lap in that event.
Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel holds the record for most wins at Marina Bay with four including a three peat from 2011-2013 when racing with Red Bull. He’s had limited success in there in the last few years, however, finishing 5th in 2016 and retiring from the race last season.
It was Vettel’s main rival, Lewis Hamilton, who took out the race last year, also recording the fastest lap of the race after Vettel himself had secured pole position earlier in the weekend.
Arguably the most consistent racer at Singapore over the last five years, however, has been Aussie Daniel Ricciardo. He is yet to record a win at Marina Bay, but from 2014 his finishes in Singapore have been 3rd, 2nd, 2nd and 2nd. Ricciardo is great odds to finish on the podium here considering he hasn’t failed to do so in his last four attempts. Although he’s retired from four of his last six races, we like him to bounce back here and finish in the top three at one of his favourite tracks.

Vettel starts as a strong $2.30 favourite for this race, which I’m not sure about considering his form of late. He might have the record for most number of wins at Marina Bay, but his counterpart Lewis Hamilton also boasts two wins here and was fantastic last season. $4.50 seems like way too high of a price for Lewis Hamilton in any Grand Prix.
