We hit on Lewis Hamilton to win the Singapore GP a few weeks ago at great odds of $4.50 to continue our fantastic run in betting on the Formula 1 in 2018. We’ll look to continue that form this weekend as the tour rolls on to the Sochi Autodrom in Russia for the Annual Russian Grand Prix.

2018 Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix Betting Tips
Sochi Autodrom will host its fifth Russian Grand Prix this weekend after returning to the Formula 1 circuit in 2014 after a 100-year absence since the only other two Russian GP’s, held in Saint Petersburg were ran. Lewis Hamilton was fantastic in Singapore, winning his seventh race of the season to move 40 points clear of Sebastian Vettel, who finished third in Asia.
Hamilton is also the driver with the most pedigree in Sochi, having won two of the four Grand Prix held there. Hamilton took out the 2014 and 2015 Russian GP’s before World Champion in 2016 Nico Rosberg took top step on the podium and Valtteri Bottas claimed the win in 2017.
Russia has been a stomping ground for Mercedes over the years, with the German manufacturing team taking the win in all four years of the Sochi event. It’s no wonder that after a few races where he was second to Vettel in the bookmakers eyes, Hamilton is back on top with the punters this week as a $2.10 favourite.
Hamilton’s form at the moment is undeniable. He has won his last two races and four of his last five and has not failed to be on one of the top two steps in his last seven completed races. Vettel on the other hand has been well below par by his lofty standards recently. A fourth place finish in Italy was backed up by a third place in Singapore on the weekend and Vettel is in serious danger of slipping too far away from his rival in the driver championships now.
Hamilton has won two races in a row on three different occasions in 2018 but has not yet achieved the threepeat. Can’t force myself to back anyone else this weekend, Hamilton has looked untouchable over the past few months.
Lewis Hamilton to win
$2.10
For the minor placings, you have to side with Hamilton’s teammate in Valtteri Bottas. Bottas finished fifth in 2015 but won the Russian Grand Prix last season. Mercedes remain unbeaten in Sochi and at $1.72 behind the wheel of the German car we think he is great value to finish on the podium this weekend.
