Melbourne Cup day this Tuesday means a public holiday for many which gives plenty of opportunity to sink into the massive nine game slate in the NBA. There are some great matchups on offer this Tuesday and we take a look at some of the key games of the day and give our betting tips below.
NBA Betting Tips Tuesday 6th November
New Orleans Pelicans at Oklahoma City Thunder (12pm AEDT)
The New Orleans Pelicans have looked out of sorts without their star centre Anthony Davis in the line-up over the last few games. Davis has missed three of the last five Pelicans games with an elbow sprain and coincidentally the Pelicans have lost their last five in a row after starting the season 4-0. Davis looks set to return to the line-up to take on OKC this Tuesday, however, which should give them a great chance on the road.
After a slow start to the season, Oklahoma have have bounced back to win their last four games in a row and captured a great 134-111 win over the Wizards on Saturday. The return of Russel Westbrook to the line-up has been the catalyst for the Thunder, as the point guard has averaged 25 points, 8.8 assists and 8.5 rebounds in his six games.
Tough match to call here. With Davis back in the line-up you’d think the Pelicans will be hard to stop from racking up 120+ points, however, the Thunder themselves have avearged 122.5 over their last four games. We think scoring should come freely here as both teams look to push the ball and the overs looks the pick.

Boston Celtics at Denver Nuggets (1pm AEDT)
The game of the day sees the Denver Nuggets hosting the Boston Celtics from 1pm. The Nuggets have been one of the surprise packets of the season so far, racking up a 8-1 record through their first nine games and capturing impressive wins over the likes of the Warriors, Pelicans and Jazz in the process. Their draw, apart from those three games, has been relatively easy, however, with games against the Clippers, Kinds, Suns, Bulls and Cavaliers already under their belt.
Tuesday should pose one of their biggest tests of the season to day when they come up against the Boston Celtics, who have bounced back after a slow start to the season. The Celtics lost two of their first four games but have won four of their next five to currently sit at 6-3 on the season and 4th in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics will be looking to bounce back after a tough loss to the Pacers on the road on Sunday.
The Nuggets are a perfect 5-0 at home so far this season and 4-1 at home against the spread. The Celtics have possessed one of the more polished defences in the league for a few years now while the Nuggets defence is arguably the most improved of the season. Of their 18 combined games so far this year, just four have hit the overs on total points. We like the unders here.

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors (2.30pm AEDT)
The Memphis Grizzlies suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss to the Suns on Monday to send them to move to 5-3 on the season. They will have the hardest test in basketball on the second night of a road back to back on Tuesday as they travel to Oakland to take on the Golden State Warriors. The Memphis offence is a bit of an issue as they almost became the first team to fail to put up 100 points against the Suns on Monday.
After losing a game earlier in the season to the Nuggets, the Warriors have gone on to win their next seven games in a row and currently sit first in the Western Conference with a 9-1 record. They have been doing it relatively easy as well, with 13.5 being their average winning margin. Steph Curry is a serious contender for MVP while Kevin Durant looks likely to score 25+ in second gear every single night.
Memphis are just 2-3 against the spread away from home this year and on the second night of a back to back here. The aging veterans in Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, who are the lynchpins of the offence, should be feeling fatigue here, we like Golden State.
