We hit on 2/3 A-League betting tips last weekend for another profitable week! Just two games to go in the A-League season and we have a great slate of games coming up this weekend for Week 26. We take a look at the key matchups of the weekend and give our betting tips below.
A-League Week 26 Betting Tips
Newcastle Jets vs Perth Glory (Friday 7.50pm AEST)
Newcastle will host Perth in the round opener on Friday night. The Jets stil sit in second place on the A-League table, even after losing their last two games in a row. They are currently the only team inside the top six that isn’t coming off a win, but with just two games to play and a minimum of 7 points separating the team above and below them, the Jets are locked into 2nd place on the table.
Perth currently sit in 8th place on the A-League table, but just three points behind the Brisbane Roar in sixth. A place in the finals isn’t out of the question for the Glory, but a win this week in Newcastle is absolutely vital.
Perth Glory are undefeated din their last 10 trips to Newcastle, the last two of which ended in draws. Newcastle did win their last encounter, however, which was in Perth back in December. Being locked into second place, Newcastle could rest a few players here in preparation for finals, we think the Glory has a great chance to secure at least a point.
TIP: Perth Glory draw no bet - $2.30 at Ladbrokes
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Brisbane Roar (Saturday 5.35pm AEST)
Massive game here for both teams as they currently sit in 6th and 7th place. Brisbane Roar has the slight advantage, sitting two points above, but WSW will be able to leapfrog them and move into the coveted 6th spot with a win here. Western Sydney have lost their last two games in a row to both Melbourne teams away from home, so will welcome the return to Sydney here.
The Roar have arguably the most in form team in the A-League over the past few months. They have won six of their last 10 games and are coming off a good win over the Mariners that catapulted them into the top six.
Interesting history between these two teams as the away team has claimed victory in both of the last two meetings, both coming at a score line of 2-0. The Roar come into this game with better form but WSW have had the difficult task of playing back to back games in Melbourne. We think they bounce back here at home and earn an important win.
TIP: Western Sydney Wanderers to win - $2.20 at Sportsbet
Sydney FC vs Adelaide United (Sunday 7pm AEST)
Adelaide would need a full-scale implosion to miss the finals series from here. They currently sit six points clear of the Wanderers in 6th place and have a better goal difference by a margin of 11. However, they do have a tough road, with away games against both Sydney teams to come.
After a bit of a shaky patch through the middle of the season, Sydney FC have won their last two games in a row and are coming off a monster 4-1 win over Suwon Bluewings in the AFC Champions League to keep them in the tournament.
Tough game to call here. Sydney don’t really have much to play for in the A-League regular season anymore, and will want to make sure there are fresh for their upcoming final group stage match in the AFC Champions League. We think this could be a low scoring slugfest here that could end in a draw or even an Adelaide win.
TIP: Adelaide double chance - $1.72 at Sportsbet
