We hit on 2/3 EPL bets last weekend as Crystal Palace scored a late goal against Chelsea to stop us going 3-0. Week 31 of the EPL gets underway Saturday night and we’ll be looking to improve on last week’s performance as we preview some of the key games of the weekend here. With some big FA Cup games scheduled for this weekend, there’s a limited slate to choose from, but we’ll hope to find some value from the four scheduled games.
Bournemouth vs West Bromwich Albion (Sunday 2am AEDT)
West Brom have had a season to forget in 2017-18 and will likely be heading down to the Championship next year. They are currently last on the EPL table, seven points behind their nearest opponent and have lost their last six games in a row. They’ll need something miraculous from here if they wish to stay in the EPL next season, and away win against Bournemouth could mark the turning point.
At this point, Bournemouth look to be safe from relegation, currently six points clear of the zone in 12th place with 33 points. A win here would almost guarantee their spot in the EPL next season. They have been a decent home team so far this season, losing just six of their 15 games at Goldsands Stadium.
West Brom have won the last two games between these two clubs, which have both come at home for The Baggies. In fact, the home side haven’t lost this fixture in the last four matches, so we expect Bournemouth to earn the win here.
TIP: Bournemouth to win - $1.80 at Sportsbet
Stoke vs Everton (Sunday 2am AEDT)
Probably the matchup of the limited round sees Stoke hosting Everton on Sunday morning. Even though Stoke have won just 1 of their last 10 clashes and currently sit in second last on the EPL table with a 6-9-15 record, there seems to still be an air of danger against playing them away from home. They’ll be playing for their lives Sunday morning as they currently have 27 points but sit just five points behind Newcastle all the way up in 13th place.
They have had a very inconsistent season, but Everton have been able to remain one of the better mid-tier teams in the league, and currently sit in 9th place with a 10-7-13 record. They have won just 3 of their last 10 games, but are coming off a good 2-0 win against Brighton last weekend.
Scoring hasn’t been a major theme in this fixture in recent history, with just four goals coming in the last three matches between the two teams. Everton are undefeated in the last four games between the two, while the last game at Stoke was a 1-1 draw. We think this could be another slugfest here so back a low scoring game.
TIP: Total goals UNDER 2.5 - $1.68 at Sportsbet
Liverpool vs Watford (Sunday 4.30am AEDT)
Liverpool are the only team in the top five to be playing an EPL tie this weekend as they host Watford on Sunday morning. The Reds went down to Manchester United in Week 30 but still hold their position in the top four, currently four points clear of Chelsea. They’ll be desperate for a win here to distance themselves in the top four.
Watford have also announced themselves as a quality mid-tier team over the past few seasons, and are always a threat to any of the top teams, especially at home. Fortunately for Liverpool, this one will be played at Anfield, where they are still undefeated this season, one of only two teams to boast the perfect home record.
The last clash between the two teams was back in August at Watford, when the Hornets were able to score in the 93rd minute to tie the game at 3-3. Liverpool won the preview three matches between the two teams with a combined 9-1 goal aggregate and we expect them to be too strong once again.
TIP: Liverpool to win and both teams to score - $2.50 at Sportsbet
