We hit on 2/4 bets in last week’s EPL betting tips with both winners coming at odds of over $2 for a profitable week. We’ll be looking to carry on the momentum over Christmas as we preview some of the key matchups in Week 19 of the EPL below.
EPL Week 19 Betting Tips
Arsenal vs Liverpool (Saturday 6.45am AEDT)
Arguably the game of the round gets things underway early on Saturday morning as Arsenal host Liverpool. Separated by just one point on the table, the two teams are jostling for the 4th place and the final spot in next season’s Champions League, with Liverpool currently holding the slight advantage with a 9-7-2 record.
Arsenal boast more wins on the season so far with 10, but have just three draws and five losses to their name. Both teams have won six of their last 10 matches and both captured good wins last weekend.
Tough game to call here as Liverpool and Arsenal look to be in really similar form of late. We have to give the slight edge to Arsenal simply because they are at home, however, Liverpool have won their last three games against Arsenal by an aggregate score of 11-4. In any case, the offence of both teams has been great lately, having netted 69 goals between them so far. The attacking quartet of Mane, Salah, Coutinho and Firmino for Liverpool is arguably the best in the league so expect goals here.
TIP: Total goals OVER 3.5 - $2.21 at Sportsbet
Everton vs Chelsea (Saturday 11.30pm AEDT)
Another decent matchup here on Saturday night as Everton play host to Chelsea. Everton went through a rough patch over the last month but have bounced back to be undefeated in their last five games, four of them wins. Wayne Rooney has finally hit his straps, netting six goals in those five matches and becoming the front man the Toffees desperately needed.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte had conceded the Blues season just a few weeks ago after a disappointing 1-0 loss to West Ham. Since then they have defeated Huddersfield, Southampton and Bournemouth in an EFL clash to put their season back on track. They still sit a mammoth 14 points behind ladder leaders Manchester City but have a relatively easy run in the next month, with Arsenal being the only top eight side to come.
Chelsea have beaten Everton in their last three EPL clashes by an aggregate score of 10-0, the most recent of which a 2-0 win in Chelsea back in August. Chelsea have shown they are capable of getting the job done even when things aren’t going right this season and with three wins on the trot their luck might have just turned around. We think the $1.62 is really great odds here.
TIP: Chelsea to win - $1.63 at UBET
Manchester City vs Bournemouth (Sunday 2am AEDT)
We are now almost halfway through the 2017-18 season and Manchester City are still yet to lose a game. Could they become just the 2nd team in Premier League history to finish a season undefeated? Only time will tell, but what we do know right now is that they are absolutely unstoppable. A 4-1 demolition job against Tottenham on the weekend asserted their dominance over the league as Raheem Sterling added another two goals to take his season tally to 11.
It’s all about Manchester City at the moment and to argue that Bournemouth could do anything tactically to stop the juggernaut would be foolish. At home against a side that has lost their last three and won just 3 of their last 10, it’ll be a case of ‘by how much’ here.
City have won their last five games against Bournemouth by an aggregate of 17-2, so we think a win to nil is the best value bet here.
TIP: Manchester City to win to nil - $1.91 at Sportsbet
Leicester City vs Manchester United (Sunday 6.45am AEDT)
Crystal Palace put Leicester’s five game unbeaten run to bed on the weekend when they cane up victorious 3-0 over the Foxes. However, it doesn’t take away from the fact that Leicester has been playing some inspired football of late, and even managed to take Manchester City all the way to penalties in their mid week EFL clash on Wednesday morning. They’ll be looking to improve on their 7-5-6 record that currently has them in 8th place, just 5 point behind Tottenham.
Manchester United have barely put a foot wrong all season, and have won their last two matches in the EPL since a disappointing 2-1 loss at home to Manchester City. They did look sluggish in their mid-week EFL clash, however, going down 2-1 to Championship team Bristol City. Zlatan Ibrahimovic got the start in that clash and found the back of the net for the first time this season, which could be a daunting prospect for upcoming opponents.
Manchester United have beaten Leicester to nil on the last two occasions the teams have met. Before that, Leicester had scored at least one goal in their previous five meetings. We like the Foxes to get back to their old ways, especially at home and get at least one on the board here, making for a high scoring affair.
TIP: Total goals OVER 2.5 - $1.88 at Ladbrokes
