After a tough few weeks betting on the NFL we managed to pick some winners last week and hopefully we are no back on track to finish off the 2014 NFL season strongly. Be sure to read on and check out our NFL Week 15 preview and free NFL betting picks.
Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams (Friday at 12:25pm AEDT)
The Cardinals head to St. Louis to take on the Rams for Thursday Night Football in Week 15 of the 2014 NFL season. Everyone is talking about the Cardinals snapping their two-game losing streak last week as they defeated the Chiefs 17-14. I think this win was very lucky and Cardinals might be back to their losing ways and their season will once again come to a halt after this game with division rivals the Rams.
The Cardinals QB Drew Stanton is having a terrible second half of the season and threw poorly (15 of 30 passing) even in their win last week. The money seems to be coming for the Rams and with running back Tre Mason having a great season, I think the Cardinals defense might struggle. Very average QB + struggling defense = tough ask for the Cardinals.
Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers (Monday at 08:05am AEDT)
The Denver Broncos can clinch the AFC West with a win against the San Diego Chargers.
The Chargers have been in some very physical games in the past month and the next three games don’t get any easier for them. New England went into Qualcomm Stadium and got the job done and I feel it could be a similar story in this game.
The Broncos are a different looking team too last year’s Broncos. They invested big dollars into the defense and it is starting to pay dividends. Running back CJ Anderson has been given plenty of carries over the past three week and between him and the defense playing lights out a lot of the pressure will be off Peyton Manning. I think we will see a much better Manning throughout December and January than we have been seeing.
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles (Monday at 12:30pm AEDT)
As you may know, the Cowboys and Eagles played just two weeks ago on Thanksgiving with the Eagles running the Cowboys out of their own stadium. Now the Cowboys can get revenge at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Last week the Philadelphia Eagles ran into a very very nasty defense as the Seahawks held them to just 14 points. While the Cowboys made light work of the Chicago Bears.
The Eagles defensive front looks like they have solved the DeMarco Murray puzzle and if that’s the case again here (which I think it will be) then all the pressure is back on Romo and Co. to make all the plays. Although Romo is playing behind an un-believable Offensive line and he is much better than previous seasons I still don’t trust him in these games.
The Eagles are the Cowboys bogey team and Chip Kelly’s offense will run all over the Cowboys once again.
New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears (Tuesday at 12:30pm AEDT)
Monday Night Football heads to Soldier Field in Chicago as the New Orleans Saints (5-8) will battle it out with the Chicago Bears (5-8) and although these two teams have an identical record, much more is at stake for the Saints.
Somehow the Saints sit atop the NFC South tied with Carolina and Atlanta. Meanwhile the Bears with the same win record are on the bottom in the NFC North. It’s really shaping up for an “anything can happen” playoff series.
Most power rankings have the Saints sitting around the 19th spot and the Bears at around 29th. The Bears have had a terrible season and each week they seem to face more and more adversity. Some have suggested they will be doing a complete rebuild from administration to quarterback, whether or not this is true you can see it is having a negative effect on the team.
Head to head these teams are very close (well this season at least). I have Drew Brees just ahead of Jay Cutler in the quarterback battle. Brees has had more completions, more yards and more touchdowns plus he thrives in these prime time games. The Saints share the rushing duties between Ingham and Robinson and in effect they are a more balanced running team than the one-dimensional Bears.
The Bears win the receiving matchup both talent wise and statistical although I think Jimmy Graham will be a big X FACTOR in this game. So with all that said I have to go with the Saints even after last week’s pathetic effort. I believe Bree’s will put up video game type numbers and guide Saints to a 24-17 victory. The total is set at 53.5 and on a cold day in Chicago with wind and rain forecast I also like the UNDER.
