Esports Betting Tips: Tuesday, October 5th

AGO vs GORILLAZ

Elisa Invitational 2021

AGO and GORILLAZ will clash in the fourth round of the Elisa Invitational 2021 on Tuesday, October 5. Both teams have won two fixtures and lost one, meaning they’re only one win away from qualifying from the playoffs.

AGO have beaten Young Ninjas (2-1) and collected a free win against Dignitas, but lost against Copenhagen Flames (1-2). On the other hand, GORILLAZ caused an upset against Sinners Esports (2-1) and picked up a 2-0 win against Team Fiend, but lost against SKADE (0-2).

AGO and GORILLAZ are in similar form, and I wouldn’t say that one roster is much better than the other. While AGO have potential, they haven’t been showing it recently.

The Poles enter this match on a four-game losing streak and have won only three of their last eight. During their losing streak, AGO kneeled to Lyngby Vikings (0-2), Copenhagen Flames (1-2), Wisla Krakow (1-2), and PACT (1-2).

While I don’t have high hopes for GORILLAZ and their future, they come off as a better-prepared team for this bout than AGO. If AGO find their form, they should beat GORILLAZ, but from what they have shown, this could be a very close match.

DBL Poney vs Young Ninjas

Elisa Invitational 2021

Young Ninjas are 8-1 in their last nine games and are clearly in great form. Over that run, Young Ninjas won against Spirit Academy (2-1), Lilmix (16-9), Team LDLC (2-1), AURA (16-4), Nigma Galaxy (2-1), Astralis Talent (2-0), Typnice (16-13), and Natus Vincere Junior (2-1).

Their near-perfect run over the last nine games looks excellent, but considering the quality of the teams Young Ninjas have beaten, I am not impressed. And I have a hard time trusting a team that went 16-13 against a stack of amateur players.

DBL Poney are 2-1 at Elisa Invitational with wins against 777 Esports (2-0) and Team Fiend (2-1) and a loss against SKADE (0-2). In their last five games, DBL Poney have won only two, against Fnatic (16-13) and SKADE (19-15), but lost against FaZe Clan (13-16), Team Fiend (5-16) and Ninjas in Pyjamas (12-16).

Even though DBL Poney haven’t won as many games as Young Ninjas, they had to face mostly top teams, so they deserve some slack. And you can’t be too critical of DBL Poney’s close series with FaZe.

Young Ninjas are simply not at the level of DBL Poney. The French squad should win this match without any issues.

Dignitas vs KOVA

Elisa Invitational 2021

Dignitas have won only one match at Elisa Invitational 2021, against Nigma Galaxy (2-1), but had to forfeit the remaining two against AGO and Young Ninjas due to conflicting schedules. Instead, Dignitas attended Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Fall: Europe, where they have achieved very little.

Even though Dignitas managed to beat MAD Lions (16-9) and Sprout (16-12), they weren’t nearly as convincing against ENCE (14-16), OG (10-16) and Team Vitality (8-16). Obviously, those are much stronger teams than any squad attending the Elisa Invitational; however, Dignitas have been underperforming even against weaker sides before.

KOVA’s only win at the Elisa Invitational came against Sinners Esports, who forfeited the match. The other two fixtures ended in a loss against Copenhagen Flames (0-2) and Team Finest (1-2).

With those two losses, KOVA are 4-5 in their last nine, which isn’t too great. However, I don’t care about KOVA’s form as much as how inconsistent Dignitas can be.

We have seen Dignitas struggle against weaker teams before, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see them slip on Tuesday. I don’t expect KOVA to win, but they should have their chances to secure one map.
