With the Autumn Racing Carnival starting to warm up, Draftstars have announced they are going to launch a brand new fantasy horse racing product.
While SportChamps lead the way with fantasy betting on horse racing, and Moneyball have a smaller version of a horse racing product, Draftstars are offering big prize pools for a true fantasy style horse racing product which has excited many in the industry.
It will all get underway on Wednesday February 26th with the meeting at Sandown, and to get the party started, Draftstars have put up a $20,000 prize pool for just a $15 buy-in.
Draftstars have created a product which should appeal to both serious horse racing punters as well as recreational DFS players.
For each race of the meeting, you must pick a horse to place a $1 each-way wager. You can only pick one horse for each race per entry, and you are only wagering $1 each-way. There’s no room to change bet amounts, pick multiple horses or bet on exotics like other fantasy racing platforms. It keeps things nice and simple.
When the race is complete, everyone will be paid out at the closing S-TAB prices to determine your score. Whoever can rack up the most points at the end of the meeting claim the big bucks in the contest!
You can change your selections at any time, so there is some room to be strategic in the final races if you need to swing a big wider to find some value to climb the ranks.
You can also setup combos of horses, similar to picking a quaddie, to make entering multiple lineups a lot faster.
It seems like a fun concept and if the $20,000 prize pool on Wednesday is anything to go by, then it should be a lot of fun for players during the Autumn racing carnival.
